This was quite a weekend. For our family we focused on:

🕊️ MLK

🕊️ Took a trip to the snow. There are no photos of that excursion because there was no snow so we actually just took a drive in the mountains with a car full of snow gear.

🕊️ we played 100 games of Chinese checkers. And I will not so humbly say, I am good at this game.

🕊️ watched our quince blossom.

🕊️ Read, playgrounded and lounged.

I spent the weekend looking at the news of the fire, texting with a few friends and obsessively watching the unimaginable visuals on my phone. Helping where I can. It’s beyond comprehension.

It hasn’t felt right to post, yet here I am. Grasping at the humorous moments, because laughter is needed.

Sending love and any support I can to those who have been affected. Which is so, so many of you. Holding you tight.

This year had its ups and it’s dowwwwnnnns. Highlights included a trip to San Miguel Antonio with , a week by myself at and seeing more beauty around me. (My sag rising always wants more travel)

I went I to the year with energy and it helped me stay afloat (barely) during the hard times.

My wish for myself is that I continue to find the humor amongst the chaos and hard moments. And that 2025 shows up in my favor.

I love an origin story. The first time I met was in an elevator. This was long before we had kids, she founded or . But, I noticed her. I knew that she was someone I wanted to know. And, I remember I liked her pants.

Fast forward fifteen-ish years and here we are. Basking in the light of the community she has created. Katie is a connector, a creator and a storyteller. I will always be in awe of all that you do, dear friend. Oh, and I still admire her clothes.

Oh and that second slide is not my sister although we appear that we could be. Just a flower loving make-it-happen kind of gal,

This weekend was spent enjoying the way the light hits the leaves, the beauty of connection and most of all our family.

The surprisingly accurate drawing in the 3rd pic is of my brother-in-law drawn by my son. Uncle B has a warm smile that never leaves his face. He is loving, he is dynamic, he is accomplished and he is very sick.

We are holding on to every precious moment we have with our beloved Brian. That is all. ❤️

A weekend well spent. Tree cutting, snow finding and the ballet. Now, it’s time to survive a week with the kids off school and appreciate the precious time we have with family. More important now than ever. ❤️

My first pair of Birkenstocks (navy Arizona’s with a back strap) were in 1996. I haven’t stopped wearing them since and this collection with hand painted flowers by and is a dream pair for me.

Along with a night of focused female powerhouses celebrating creativity is just what the doctor ordered. That along with a pair of cute comfort shoes! 🤍

From the land to the sand. A weekend away visiting friends in Marin. Beach, Barbie’s and bickering. T’was an adventure with these scorpios born 7 days apart. 🥰

The Instagram edit shows that I had a pretty nice weekend. Swims in pools, beautiful meals, time with friends. We got our pumpkins and we did some cooking. End of summer is going strong.

Not pictured is the chaos that we also endured. The climbing, naughty behavior and that my kids thought that putting on their bathing suits and getting in the washing machine before school settled on Monday was, indeed, the best idea ever.

Today, I decided to start a journal so that I can remember all these moments and share some of the stories during their wedding speech. Because I want to feel the humor in it all. And, I want revenge. 😜

Good luck out there. It’s a new week, a new month, and truly anything can happen. Especially in my house.

At this last flower gathering someone asked me a great question. How do you know where to start. How do you select the first flower, whether at the flower market or at the farmers market.

This is a great question. I have an answer.

If I have a client request or color palette of course I follow that. If I have open range, I scan for the prettiest flower or the flower that adds a little spring in my step. The one I love the most. The best one.

Then, I simply build from there.

Start with onions and garlic and start adding the ingredients. Sometimes you have an abundance of summer produce to work with and sometimes the kitchen cupboard are empty. Just start with one thing and goooooo.

45 years today. 💫 What would this little girl think? The little girl that also got in trouble for talking too much, interrupting and having too much energy when it wasn’t appropriate. The little girl that was better at being expressive than math. The little girl that still relies on her Mother for comfort and loves a good vest. That little lady that loves flowers and making things and dreaming of what is next.

I want to squeeze her and love her. And, wish her a happy 45th birthday.

I am grateful to all of you for being along this path with me. Thank you for bringing me so much of my daily joy. 👑

I have a friend who calls himself a “seasonal observer” and he swears that the light shifts on August 15th and you can feel the hint of Autumn in the air and the way the light becomes longer. I agree with him fully. 🍂

Last night we had the pleasure of enjoying the most wonderful meal on a friends ranch. The figs, squash blossom and tomato’s were from the garden and prepared in the most incredible way. The conversation was engaging and the light was, well, long.

I welcome this time for year, and have never had a problem saying bye to summer. Either does Hazel the pig. 🐖
