How would you spend the days if the temp ping-ponged between 106-112 degrees? This is how I have….

Cutting my zinnias that I have grown from seed. This was my first rodeo doing this sort of thing and I am feeling rewarded.

Doggie love, spa night and chess class in the air conditioning! Necessary.

And most wonderfully, celebrating a friend I admire greatly. A beautiful 🧜🏾‍♀️ inside and out in water that refreshes your soul.

Our weekend had a theme. The theme was summer.

Everywhere I go I visit the local Farmers Market, but the remains a favorite.

I made homemade tomato sauce from scratch for the first time, and I have to say, it was pretty delicious. 🍅

Creek time. Lake time. My son was annoyed that I could not catch a fish with my bare hands. Who does he think I am?!

Weekend.

Home grown flowers from seeds. Green smoothies that are actually the perfect shade of blue. And, evidence that the summer of “get the kids sleeping in their own bed” is a failure.

It was all AC and pool time for this 105 degree weekend.

Have you ever heard someone visualize a dream and watch them create it over a a handful of years? That is what watching and of has been for their friends, including me. First came the flower shop, and now the beautiful cafe. ☕️

If you are in the Mission, I suggest you pop by for 🌹 infused coffee and a little bouquet for yourself. The whole place is beautiful, with a balanced helping of ease and deliberate design. Pretty much magical, just like it’s creators.

Happy birthday to my number one gal. SIX!!!! As the bday weekend wraps up I finally have time to post.

This year we continued one old family tradition and started a new one.

Continuing Seth’s family tradition, we have a birthday chair in the morning. It’s a simple tradition that he grew up with. The bday persons chair is decorated and there are little stocking stuffer type gifts out.

A new tradition I started last year is another simple one but has big impact. I always get the kids a new outfit to wear and give it to them the morning of their birthday. This year Friday wore a subtle sequins dress to school. So fabulously her.

Little Natalie. I think I was 9 in this pic and now, today on my birthday, I am officially 43. I am certainly in a stage of reflecting on my life and what I have accomplish and what I want to do. One thing is for sure, I don’t want to live a boring life.

If I had one thing to tell Little Natalie it would be to know I would feel more at home in myself the older I got. And that she is never alone. Knowing myself deeply is the beat gift I have ever given myself.

We went for snow and we found it. ❄️ And only 50% of us cried in the making of this memory. I love that snow is so close to our new home.

Today was a mind blowing day. I visited the Aalsmeer Flower Auction in Holland. It is the largest in the world and sells 20 million flowers a day. Check out the bustle of the trucks getting the flowers ready for auction and shipment. This was only a small corner of the 10 million foot building.

How cool is this escalator tulip decor? Hundreds of tulips were planted between the escalators in a downtown financial district bldg.

It was a great year full of flowers!
