I have some very nice fresh greenery leftover from custom pots and can make some drop-in fiber pots that you can add into your own container. These are 9" rounds filled with soil, greenery, and decor for $30. The greenery will look good all winter, especially if it's watered and in a spot that's not in full sun. I finally had time to make my own holiday planter, so I guess that means that the 2023 gardening season has come to an end!! I really appreciate everyone who supports my little gardening business throughout the year! I am super grateful for my employees this year: Jason, CJ, Sheila, Susan & Max. They took great care of everyone's plants!
I'll be hanging out with Patrick this winter, as we both have downtime now. We also have a food truck together that's done for the season, too!! I'm taking some time off now, but I'll be working on garden plans, website stuff, and marketing this winter. For fun, I'm hoping to travel a bit, get Reiki training in January, and work on some art/crafts. Until spring... Thanks so much!

With temps in the 50s over the next few days, it's especially important to keep your greenery well-watered. We water all of the containers and spray everything with WiltPruf, a product that prevents leaves from drying out, but watering regularly until the soil freezes in the pot or windowbox is something you can do to keep them looking fresh! Thank you!!

Airplants in vintage holiday cups add a festive look to your table and make a great gift, too! The terrarium ornament has an opening so you can mist the air plant to care for it. Hang it on the tree or place on a table or window/ windowsill. The base has a flat area, so it won't roll around.

Too cold to do outside planters today, so I'm drying some orange slices for holiday decorating and to add to wreaths! Sprinkling a little powdered sugar on the cut pieces before you pop them in the oven makes them extra glisteny! 🌟

I got the sweetest note from one of our clients. We've been helping to maintain her large yard and garden for a few years now, with monthly trips to w**d and prune plants throughout the season. She's a longtime gardener and trusts us to take good care of her plants that she can no longer tend to the way that she used to. We love being able to do that for her, too. 💛

I'm trying out a bulb planting method in my yard that I saw recently. Instead of digging individual holes for each bulb, just use a shovel to dig one hole to the proper depth (around 6 inches for tulips and daffodils), toss in a handful of bulbs, and cover with soil!! Don't worry if they're not right-side up-- bulbs like these will actually grow up fine in spring. It's really fun and fast! This is a great method to add a patch of spring color between clumps of perennials, like hostas or daylilies!

8 out of 9 woolly bear caterpillars agree it will be a mild winter. Severe or mild, they'll all be frozen solid under leaf litter anyway. In the spring, these caterpillars will thaw out, pupate within cocoons and emerge as adult Isabella tiger moths.

We planted daffodil and allium bulbs today in parts of the garden, such as near the front door and along the street and driveway. They will offer a friendly welcome next spring! Deer and rabbits leave these alone, too, so you'll get a nice flower show! 🌼

🕷️ This is a "spiderette" which is a baby spider plant that grows on a long stem from the original spider plant. As it grows, it produces aerial roots, and once it's gathered enough energy, it will drop to the ground to start growing on its own!

The spiderettes are actually where the spider plant got its name. People think they look like spiders.
