Couldn't ask for a better evening for a ride on the Smokey Valley Railroad dinner train. We served another heritage meal this evening.🍽 Our menu: tossed salad with vidalia onion dressing, string green beans, snowflake potatoes, baked chicken breast in cream sauce and toasted stuffing. Early Friday morning! Jordan and I went to the Solomon high school🦍 to set up a breakfast buffet for the teachers and staff. Options were: biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, bacon strips 🥓and scrambled eggs🍳 with cheese. A variety of muffins: chocolate chip, blueberry, banana nut and cinnamon swirl. 🍊Thank you for letting up serve you!

What an Amazing evening celebrating the Community Foundation's 25th anniversary. Sorry I didn't get alot of pictures. The board selected the menu: spinach salad with blackberries and feta cheese, green beans with almond butter, roasted Yukon potatoes, beef tenderloin drizzled with red wine sauce. For dessert a choice of New York cheesecake with berries or homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing. We plated and served the meals. My staff did a beautiful job this evening. Ady, Brenda, Corbyn, Cortney, Claudine, Emma, Etel, Fred, Jordan, Kelly, Phyllis, Shelly and Steph. Thank you to Everyone that made this event a success!!

A very busy Saturday! Started the morning out in Solomon preparing pancakes and sausage with the high school athletes for the Solomon Festival. 🌺🌴🕶 Then a luncheon for Rocky Lowery. The birthday celebration meal was fresh vegetable tray, italian pasta salad, pulled pork and brisket. The brisket recipe used has been in their family for 50 years.🎉🎂 Then in the evening we had the Katy Flyer heritage train. 🚂 The menu was wedge salad topped with bacon, diced tomatoes, blue cheese and chives , chicken pot pie, garlic mashed potatoes, seasoned corn and cornbread muffins. Dessert was homemade peach cobbler with whipped topping. Thank you to my crew after a long weekend: Ady, Emma, Jordan and Kelly. GREAT JOB!

Saturday evening was another heritage train meal. 🌹Prairie Rose. Menu was a toss salad, smothered steak with sauteed onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet peas and roll. Dessert was lemon blueberry cheesecake with fresh berries on top. For the gluten free meals we had swiss steak in chopped tomatoes, garlic mashed potatoes and peas. Tonight was the first evening for the heritage meal on the dinner train. The meals selected for each train comes from their menu back in the 1940's. Tonight's menu: tossed salad greens, seasoned green beans, scalloped potatoes, stuffed porkloin with creamy brown gravy with sauteed mushrooms. Apple pie for dessert. Happy Mother's Day. ❤ We served our first dinner 🚂 train of the season. Menu from this evening: tossed salad with lime vinaigrette, chicken cordon bleu with white wine sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, seasoned green beans and rolls. Congratulations to the Scholarship winners, Donors that made this night possible and the Community Foundation. The Greyhound Hall of Fame was rocking Monday evening. Menu served: chopped Italian salad, seasoned green beans, chicken alfredo, lasagna and assorted breads. The tables had plated cheesecakes: New York with berries and Lemon Blueberry with blueberries. Wow! Forgot to take pictures. It was a crazy day with the weather. At one point the electricity went off. But as Kelly and I traveled to Salina the skies cleared and the wind calmed down. We had the honor to serve Saturday night at The Sullivan. The

Event #2 of the week. United Capital Management's 20th Anniversary celebration. We got to go to Minneapolis, Kansas. The Farm & The Odd Fellows. What a beautiful and unique building. There staff was so professional, polite and helpful. We did an array of appetizers for the event. Spinach bacon dip with fresh carrots and celery sticks, naan bites, shrimp and krab dip in phyllo shells, chicken salad sliders, vegetable pizza, jalapeno poppers, chicken burritos, white queso and chips, bruschetta crostinis, board with cream cheese and two flavors of Kelly's homemade jalapeno jelly with crackers, variety of olives and pickles and drunken meatballs. Dessert options: cupcakes, apple cobbler and mini tiramisu cups. Thank you Ashley and United Capital Management for the opportunity. Thank you to my crew for an excellent job! Busy last week. Let's get events and pictures posted. Thursday evening we served the Dickinson County Conservation District meeting and awards banquet. Menu: toss salad, seasoned green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, glazed ham and brisket with rolls. Amanda's and a bakery from Elmo prepared the lovely pies. Congratulations to the poster winners! Don't forget about the Solomon Community Fund. A match up to $5000 could be added. Donate for your community growth.

Donate Dickinson County Day will be held on March 15, 2024.

Donate Dickinson County Day aims to help area nonprofit organizations/community funds raise monies for their endowment funds.

The Community Foundation will match up to $5K per agency/organization/community until funds are exhausted.

Staff will be in the office and drive-thru at 418 NW 3rd Street in Abilene from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for in-person donations.

Donors can also give online at www.donatedickinson.com until midnight!

The sun finally came out late this afternoon. What a great evening to celebrate with Robson Oil! The family, faithful employees and friends gathered to celebrate 100 years of business. Pictures were presented showing the past operations to the present. Employee acknowledgments were also recognized. The menu chosen for this event: plated house salad, green bean almondine, mashed potatoes and brown gravy, spinach smother chicken breast in parmesan cream sauce, roast beef and baskets of rolls. Last dinner train of the year with Smokey Valley Railroad. Guests were awed with the bright lights and decor of the season. Menu for the evening: Italian parmesan toss salad, Homemade lasagna, Seasoned green beans and Bread sticks. Tiramisu was served for dessert. Sunday was a special day to celebrate a belated birthday: Stu Etherington. His family joined him at the Seally Mansion. We dined in the historical dining room of Mrs. Seally. Just think of the past guests whom were seated at this table. Linda chose the menu of: fresh green tossed salad, Italian chicken, seasoned green beans, rolls and scalloped potatoes. Kelly helped me plate their meals. The Mansion was beautifully decorated for Christmas. These pictures are just a glimpse of what you can see on a tour. Terry honored us by playing carol's on the piano before lunch. 🎹 Thank you for your business! Happy Birthday, Stu 🎂. And Merry Christmas to All.🌲

Last Christmas🌲 party for the season. Memorial Health Systems celebrated at Sand Springs Venue tonight. The committee chose this menu: toss salad, seasoned corn, augratin potatoes, rolls, italian chicken and brisket with bbq sauce. Dessert was holiday themed cupcakes. Gina had the Venue beautifully decorated for Christmas.🎅 Tonight's entertainment were The Dueling🎹Piano's. They sounded great! My crew nailed it this evening. Ady, Emma, Jordan and Kelly. Thank You! We appreciate you hiring us for your party.
