Mayari’s Voyage is the vision and creation of Owner and Chef, Mayari Velasquez Creach. She grew up loving to cook when she saw how much food soothes the soul. Creating flavorful and comforting meals for family, friends, and now clients, has become her passion and her culinary artistry has blossomed and become evident in every dish she prepares.
Mayari has been working as a professional chef and honing her culinary skills since 2014, when she received her Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales in 2016. While pursuing her degree, Mayari trained under world class chefs from all over the globe.
Chef Mayari has received specialized training in Asian, Indian and classic French cooking. Her education included extensive study in beverages and beverage service, including beer, wine and spirits. She has also developed expert skills in grilling, braising, roasting, sautéing and, particularly, baking everything from breads, croissant and pastries to cookies, cakes and scones. Mayari is well-versed in all aspects of food management, preparation and service and is certified in food handling and safety procedures.
Chef Mayari earned her cooking stripes working at a variety of culinary establishments, from falafel houses and bakeries to fine dining French and Italian restaurants. With Mayari’s Voyage, Chef Mayari is living her dream to create healthy yet flavorful meals that make people feel good. She puts her stamp on classic dishes with her unique flair for adding complementary ingredients and she enjoys the adventure of trying new flavors or food sources. With every cooking endeavor, she brings techniques, ingredients and flavors from her Latin American roots. Each meal she creates includes her knowledgeable pairing of the perfect beverage for every dish or course.
What makes Chef Mayari most unique is her talent for both customer and meal service and ensuring her clients are delighted, accommodated and entertained. She personalizes every meal and caters to every taste, diet and food preference.
“My hope with the services we provide is to offer people moments. Moments to be with friends and family with out having to stress about how the food will be handled. Moments to laugh and slow down with those we love. Moments to experience something as simple as a great dish and glass of wine or beer and realizing they taste great together. A moment to eat something you have never eaten before, or even a moment to remember why you continue to love the food you do eat”.
