entus kicked off the new year by helping to launch the highly successful Famously Hot New Year's Eve event on Main Street, which drew record crowds of over 22,000 people to downtown Columbia.

Who am I:
Annette Hoover is a owner in Eventus, LLC, a 35 year veteran in the event planning field, and has been an adjunct professor for over 10 years at the University of South Carolina School of Hospitality, Retail, and Tourism Management. Annette is a USC graduate (1999 BS Inter-discipinary Studies; 2001 MS HTRM/Higher Education) whom prides herself on trying to bring real life experience to the hospitality students of USC. Annette created and teaches Wedding Planning and Management and Festival and Events Management at USC. These classes max out in attendance every semester with 80+ students. These courses break the class down into committees each handling a different aspect of the event to be planned from start to finish. The students work to collect everything they need for their events as donations from local businesses in exchange for publicity at the event. Annette has been recognized for her innovative courses and for her outstanding support of USC and the community by Dean Pat Moody and Dean Brian Mihalak of the HRSM college as well as Dr. John Palms, USC Distinguished President Emertius, and has been honored by the Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley as a preferred small business owner to the Governor's Office. As a small business owner of All About Brides and Events, Annette has specialized in wedding consulting and planning services as well as specialty event planning. Since starting Eventus she has planned well over 800 weddings, fund raising events, and corporate events.
