Months ago I got a call from to book for her moms 60th party. She said I want an instagrammable cocktail menu. The color is purple and there will be only fresh flowers (we even created a mocktail version with the same aesthetics). I hope I delivered! This one is first because it’s very important and most obvious aspect of planning a cocktail reception: your guests need to know. This can be as simple as stating “cocktail reception and cake to follow” on your invites, but if you know a lot of people prone to getting hungry, you may want to gently remind them that they won’t be getting dinner at your reception. Also if you plan to have a limited beverage offering during the cocktail hour make sure your guests are aware.
