The summer (and the winter) at the peak temperatures are the slowest times for me as a photographer, so I’m taking the time to share some BTS this year. Except we have several shoots that just happened/about to happen… Also I’m so bad at running my own social… this post was supposed to go live 3 weeks ago 😂

It’s pretty cool to see where this business has taken us across the nation, and we have so much planned next. Where to next? Not sure, you tell us!! 😍

Part 2 - the engagement photos after the proposal 💍 // Haley and Travis were a joy and so easy to shoot, even in the peak heat of the Texas summer. Also shout out to the random guy who I mistook for Travis when I got to the lake. That man was so confused… 😂

I hid behind a tree for this 🌳 // Travis surprised Haley on their typical morning walk with a beautiful proposal at Turtle Creek Park. Wild fact- we were originally planning on White Rock Lake until we realized a marathon was happening in the exact route we were taking at the exact same time. 🤡 Congrats to the newly engaged! Stay tuned for part 2 - our engagement session is coming up soon, guys! 🩷

We’ve been doing back to back shoots for Katydid (evidence via the sweat in this 100 degree heat)! I usually don’t get to share my work for a while, because we shoot products far in advance for the upcoming season. Then by the time the products go live the photos feel old to me and silly to post 😅 Probably just in my head.

But we also have a new employee at Katydid who doubles as the perfect model!

I love working with models. It’s so different than my typical couples I shoot engagement photos for! The models always have their own direction, their own end goal for the shoot. Maybe I can take a few poses from ’s book! 🤪❤️

I’m so behind on posting all of my shoots lately 😅 but anyways…

Last hurrah for Johnny and Emily 💙 This whole photo session was just chasing the little one around Union Station (the truth of family photos haha). But we got a few just Johnny and Emily, while Cody watched little Johnny. Johnny is a long time friend of Cody’s. They were both theta chis at Missouri State. Been buds ever since.

The Union Station is gorgeous in Kansas City. When Johnny and Emily suggested we shoot there, I immediately said yes. The interior floods with natural lighting and the exterior is gorgeous too. Fun fact, if Cody and I were going to get married in Kansas City, it would have been here 🥹

Emily, Johnny, & Johnny (yes you read that right) 👫 // When Johnny (adult version) reached out to surprise Emily with a family photoshoot for Christmas, we had no idea the time hurdles we’d have to jump over 😂 from travel to evil classmates to “INCOMING BABY!” we finally got them done! And the family photos turned out so cute 🥹
