My mom, Bev, would often recite this poem to me. I think about it often. In other words, don't tell all you know. That way other people know all they know already, plus all you know. You, on the other hand, still only know what you knew in the beginning. Who is the wiser person? This is very timely in light of all the face book postings, bloggers and videos online. It is okay to share some knowledge to help others, but sometimes people just think they are more important or know more than everyone else. Others are just not that interested in what you have to say sometimes. You have my permission to simply listen.
A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?
