Sixteen years old.

Please tell me this is a dream and I will wake and find you in your cowboy decor room, waking up for a sippy cup of milk and cartoons in my bed.

We all know too well that time is the biggest thief of all but actually, it's a joy all the same. Time is what gets you to the next stage (Jaxson driving a car). It's what gets you to the next memory about to be made. The next long talk way past bedtime. The next car ride to get groceries (maybe he can drive me this time). All the big moments to come, followed by the mundane (but very important) days in between.

What a privilege to be able to experience TIME. And Jaxson, what a time we have had with you. An old soul at heart, you challenge us to see the beauty in the world. Your love for nature, history and exploration is truly unmatched and one of your best attributes. You invest so much in your many interests, knowledge comes easy. It's pretty great having a 'walking encyclopedia' in the family!

We are so very proud of you in all you do Jaxson.
Enjoy this moment in time. (Ahh to be 16 again!)

When you get a 70 degree day during winter, you shoot your shot for a warm, golden prairie engagement session with a beautiful couple.
Kayla fell in love with not only Robert but Nebraska's wide open sky and I think we captured just that 🌅

My photography word for 2025 is going to be nostalgia: a feeling of longing or affection for a time in the past, often triggered by memories that are associated with happiness. I really want to lean into this for ALL sessions. Everyone has something nostalgic… an object, a game!, something special that belonged to someone they loved.

All the feels as we look back at exactly 1 year ago, we left on our Grand Adventure. Taking the kids out of school and seeing the world. That first month was spend exploring the west side of the United States. Heading up to Seattle, working down to Joshua Tree, and coming back to Nebraska. So many memories were made in that 1st month that our family will never forget. I treasure those moments sooo much and wish we could do it all over again!
