This is a special music video of "When I Sing" (by Leeann Starkey) from the 2024 Spring Concert that showcases each of our different choir programs. The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir is a full-year choir program, for ages 6-18, that provides young singers the best place to nurture their talent by learning proper vocal technique, musical skills, and making new friends who also love to sing!

Now in its 37th year under the direction of Ms. Davidson, the RVCC has earned national recognition for choral excellence and is a highly respected arts organization in the Roanoke Valley and in the state of Virginia. Since its founding in 1987, we estimate that over 2,000+ children have participated in the choir program. The choir currently consists of 150 singers in 1st-12th grade from many schools across the Roanoke Valley.
Singing in a children’s choir can be life changing for so many children. Along with the artistic expression and musical skills, the choir program teaches confidence, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. The culmination of these qualities leads to skilled young singers, diligent musicians, and emerging community leaders.

An RVCC Spring Concert Tradition! We have been opening the concert with “Come and Sing” for almost 20 years! The music and words are so beautiful and meaningful to our choir program. “We are friends forever when we sing together. The whole world is better when we sing. So let’s sing forever, hold our hands together, make the whole world better - Come and Sing!”
We would love for you to “Come and Sing” with us at one of our Introductory Classes for New Singers on May 17th or May 20th! We hope that all of our choristers can invite a friend and come to a “Come and Sing” Newcomer Event! Let’s sing together!

The choir year has flown by with steady and lovely progress by our hard-working young singers. The tone quality is extra beautiful for this concert while we have a strong focus on classical composers and vocal style - as well as many fun songs this year! The annual "Senior Dash" for all the seniors who have their materials in for the concert. This is such a fun and fair group! They dashed and fought for what they wanted and then shared afterwards! 😊 This is a delightful senior group!! 🥰

Only 4 days to Christmas! Here is "Good King Wenceslas" sung by the RVCC "B Choir" (3rd-4th graders). Listen to their beautiful young voices and pure tone! These singers did a fantastic job learning about vowel sounds, good diction, and musical phrasing while singing in this challenging, classical style. Congratulations to the B Choir!

Announcing the RVCC annual end-of-year fundraiser with a video from Ms. D! As a non-profit organization rebuilding from the pandemic, having community, alumni, and patron support is more important than ever. Roanoke Valley Children's Choir singing "You've Got A Friend In Me". We're practicing for an upcoming performance!
Friendship in a song! This is "You've Got A Friend In Me" recorded at rehearsal last night. We're preparing for a couple upcoming performances and in this song, they're working on their best Barbershop style in singing and stage style. It makes me so happy to see them having fun like this and working hard! Hurray for our Concert Choir!!
