Celebrating 30+ years of choral excellence in this pre-professional choral program. We are celebrating 35 years of making music!

The Roanoke College Children's Choir was founded by Kimberly Ruse Davidson in 1987, and made the transition to the non-profit, Roanoke Valley Children's Choir, in 2013.

The Concert Choir sang beautifully for both services at Second Presbyterian Church today. Faithful choir moms provided breakfast for our singers in between services.

The staff and people at Second Presbyterian were very welcoming and it was a delightful morning sharing our singing in the Community.

An extra treat was to see some choir alumni!! Once you're in the RVCC you're always family! 🎶🩵

This is our "Winter Warm-up" rehearsal day for the Concert Choir. We rehearse, have lunch, play cards and games, and then rehearse some more!

Each year, the "Winter Warm-up" is paired with singing at local churches for Community Outreach. Tomorrow we will be singing at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke for both services.

It's a favorite weekend in the RVCC!

Yesterday was Buddy Day at rehearsal! Concert Choir members attended the A, B, and B+ rehearsals to mentor the younger singers. It was awesome! The younger singers get such a boost to learn the new music and also have fun having a special big brother/big sister for the day.

We love to sing! We love Buddies!

We're back! The Roanoke Valley Children's Choir started our spring semester with a lot of cheerful choristers, a lot of cheerful chatter, and a lot of cheerful singing!

We definitely love to sing! And we love our choir friends! Mondays are a very happy day! 🎶

MIDDLE SCHOOL SINGERS! Youth Choir scholarships are available for new singers! We have extended the deadline and applications are now due by Wednesday, January 15th, 2024.

The RVCC received grant funding from the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke to award 10 scholarships to new singers joining our Youth "B+" Choir for the Spring 2025 Semester! Each scholarship is worth $150, which pays for nearly half of the standard tuition.

There are still 6 scholarships available for 6 new singers to join the RVCC “B+ Choir” for 5th-9th grade students. Scholarships will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

NEW SINGERS! We have extended the Spring 2025 registration due date and added another option for new singers interested in joining the RVCC! Sign up to attend the first rehearsal on Monday, January 13th for free! This is a great way to see what choir is like before you decide to register.

MONDAY, JANUARY 13th:
🎵 1st-5th Elementary Choir Rehearsal = 4:30-6:00 PM
🎵 5th-9th Youth Choir Rehearsal = 5:30-7:00 PM
🎵 9th-12th Concert Choir Rehearsal = 7:00-9:00 PM
*Rehearsal location is Bethel Baptist Church, 1601 S Colorado St, Salem, VA.

Hello RVCC Alumni and friends,

Here is an update about our 2024 annual fundraiser. We are in the middle of our fundraiser with a goal to raise $40,000. We have had 25 donations totaling $13,987 so far. Thank you to everyone who has donated!

Although in the first 34 years of the choir we were mostly tuition funded, in order to keep the choir running we need to ask boldly for your support as we work diligently to rebuild the RVCC. The tuition income of the currency enrolled singers only covers half of the operating expenses to run the RVCC Choir program at our traditional level of excellence.

All donations are tax deductible for the 2024 year if received by December 31st, 2024.

We need more donations and YOU are our main supporters! As I talk with fellow choral and music directors, our dire situation is shared by many groups. Rebuilding after the pandemic is a common struggle for many, many arts groups. We are all turning to our alumni base who understand the beauty and the impact of our program and the alumni are answering the call for help!

We would love to have a broader base of donation support - any size donation makes a difference! We are sending this email to over 500 people. If everyone donated $50, we would reach our goal to raise $40,000!

Our 38th Holiday Concert was beautiful!!! Congratulations to all of our choristers for the professionalism and well-rehearsed angelic singing. The concert brought JOY to our audience. JOY measured in happy smiles and tears at the beauty. I couldn’t be more proud of our singers who remembered DWWR (Do What We Rehearse)! They sang with such beauty and had the best stage presence.

Our heartfelt thanks to the fine folks at Cave Spring Baptist for opening their doors and hearts to support our Community Arts Program to have our concert at their church.

A big THANK YOU to the 40+ parent volunteers who run the backstage, sell tickets, take tickets, hand out programs, take attendance, trouble shoot, usher, check and fix costumes, clean the church after the concert and help to set it up for Sunday services. WOW!!! We have wonderful folks in the RVCC!

It was a magical afternoon of two beautiful concerts. Congratulations to us all!!

Our 38th Holiday Concert was absolutely beautiful yesterday!! Congratulations to all of our singers!! Lots more pictures to come!

This first group of photos highlights the many, many beautiful alumni who were at the concert!! I even snuck a few pictures on stage for "Christmastide" so I can always remember the absolutely sparkling moment when we sing with family members and alumni.

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, under the direction of Kimberly Ruse Davidson, will be presenting its 38th annual holiday concert, “Songs of the Season”, Saturday, December 21st, 2024, with concerts at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM at Cave Spring Baptist Church, 4873 Brambleton Ave in Roanoke (map it). The annual "Senior Dash" for all the seniors who have their materials in for the concert. This is such a fun and fair group! They dashed and fought for what they wanted and then shared afterwards! 😊 This is a delightful senior group!! 🥰
