I’ve been talking on my stories a bit about candid images, what they really are, how to create space for them, etc. It’s become a trend in the past few years to place an emphasis on candid images - to which I say HALLELUJAH.

This puts the emphasis on being present and actually enjoying this day you not only planned for so long, but planned for a pretty important reason: marrying the love of your life!

But what a lot of people don’t understand is that guided imagery - a lot of what you see on Instagram, including my own - is not actually *candid*.

Candid, by definition, means a photograph taken informally, especially without the subject's knowledge. Of course, it’s hard to be unaware of a camera pointed on you all day when you’re the center of attention. But if you TRULY want images that show the incredible range of emotions you’ll feel on your wedding day, pretend we aren’t there….more on that another time.

On this day last year, I was roaming around Paris, on my birthday, with some of my most favorite people in the world. Lucky doesn't even begin to describe how I feel, that THIS is my life, my calling. Don't get me wrong, I worked hard and sacrificed things that a lot of others would not, but I know I've had a bit of help from the universe, too. Thank you, all of you, for being here, and helping me celebrate another trip around the sun.
