We first met this beautiful June bride and handsome groom at her brother's wedding last year! We were truly honored when they asked us to join them on their special day too! What an absolutely enchanting day it turned out to be!

It all began with a beautiful mass at St. Pius, where their loved ones gathered to celebrate the sacrament of their marriage. Afterwards, they went to various locations for photos, including the Drake campus where the groom had proposed to his stunning bride!

Their journey continued to the Des Moines Heritage Center for their reception, transformed into a breathtaking English garden. The soft hues of pink and blush florals perfectly complemented the natural elegance of this radiant couple and their unforgettable day!

We were incredibly grateful to have been a part of this amazing day and witnessing the celebration of love!

Celebrating Love Across Cultures! ✨

Last weekend...what an incredible weekend it was!

A wedding celebration that was several years in the making! Not only in the planning but our connection with the brides family goes way back to my grade school days (STS!) and a reconnection over the years at other weddings.

Last weekend wouldn't have been possible without the tireless efforts of the incredible women who brought it all together for us. A special shoutout to the mother of the bride, Kathy and our stunning bride Jessica, whose wisdom, grace, and attention to detail made every moment magical.

Also, a huge thank you to our handsome groom Suraj and his beautiful family, whose guidance, vision and passion helped infuse the Indian traditions in every aspect of this celebration. The blending of traditions ensured every guest felt cherished and included and honoring both of your cultures was nothing short of extraordinary.

From the vibrant colors of traditional Indian ceremonies to the classic elegance of American traditions, this wedding was a beautiful fusion of two rich cultures.

The festivities kicked off Saturday with the American ceremony, where the bride and groom exchanged vows surrounded by their loved ones at St. Augustin’s Catholic Church followed by a beautiful cocktail hour and reception at The Surety Hotel. It was a moment of pure magic and bliss!

As the sun set, the reception transitioned into a vibrant Mehndi ceremony, where intricate henna designs adorned the hands of our bride, family and guests, symbolizing love and joy. The air was filled with laughter, music, and the tantalizing aroma of delicious Indian cuisine.

The Sunday morning festivities began in true Indian style with the lively Baraat procession on a beautiful sunny morning! Music echoed through the streets of downtown Des Moines as the groom made his grand entrance, surrounded by family and friends dancing joyously! It was a spectacle to behold, filled with laughter, music, and pure excitement! Then came the mesmerizing Indian wedding ceremony, steeped in centuries-old traditions and symbolism. The sacred fire, the vows, the exchanging of garlands - each ritual infused with deep meaning and love.

We were incredibly grateful to have been a part of this amazing weekend and witnessing the celebration of love!

Our 2024 wedding season kicked off in April with the wedding of one of the sweetest couples we have had the opportunity to work with! Our beautiful couple were meticulous in the planning of their day, and they knew exactly how they wanted the day to unfold. They provided their family and friends with a day where they could all relax and be present as everyone helped them celebrate the beginning of their lives together! The wildflower floral was a great kick off to spring and we had a “first” …a Flower Man who totally killed it! 😊 Wishing Hali and Tyler love and happiness as they embark on their very own “Happily Ever After”! As we wrapped up our summer weddings, we found ourselves at the beautiful Des Moines Botanical Gardens to help Kelsey and Kyle celebrate their day!

Their original vision was a beautiful outdoor celebration under the stars all night long, but Mother Nature tossed in a twist here and there and Kelsey and Kyle just rolled with it. There were plans A, B and C…plan C won out for the day and they had the most perfect outdoor ceremony as the sun was beginning to set over downtown.

The party then moved inside where the perfect “mix and mingle” reception kicked off where Kelsey and Kyle were able to greet all their guests as they enjoyed heavy appetizers and cocktails before moving into their dance. It is always such a treat when a band is in the house, and this was a great band! Several of the band members were friends of the groom and bride and a fabulous time was had by all the guests.

It was such an honor to spend the day with our gorgeous bride Kelsey and handsome groom Kyle! Truly a beautiful couple both inside and out! They are well on their way to their very own “Happily Ever After”! Cheers to you both! 🥂💗

We always feel so blessed to get to do what we do as we help brides, grooms and their families put their vision into play on the day of their weddings. We feel doubly blessed when we get asked to be with the same families as they celebrate a wedding for another daughter! We helped with sister Katie’s wedding several years ago. It was an honor to be with our gorgeous bride Tori and her handsome groom Nate! Tori’s vision for her day was fabulous with the many pops of color reflected in the eclectic mix of vases, floral stems and candles that cast a beautiful glow on the entire day! They had a splendid day celebrating with their family and friends and all the “littles” in their lives who played important roles in Tori and Nate’s day. Labor Day weekend was the wedding and reception of our stunning bride Amy and her handsome groom, Michael at another new, beautiful venue for us, The Hive at Busy Bee in Indianola!

Amy and Michael planned the most perfect day for their family and friends…the décor was stunning, classic white floral, the desserts were made with love by the MOH, and their guests were treated to Michael and Amy’s favorite snacks and an ice cream food truck to top off the evening! On a very special note…most all of our weddings are referrals from other brides and grooms, so it was a great treat to see two of our favorite honeymooners M&M! While two is usually better than one, we had to divide and conquer on Friday! Kelsey had the privilege of helping out family this past weekend! Zach and Sarah had a beautiful day at Country Lane Lodge in Adel. We always love working with the great people of CLL. It’s always special to help our brides and grooms but even more so when it’s family! They planned a fun day for their family and friends to celebrate. The food was delicious and the DJ was amazing! KC MO was the place to be on September 15th! We had the BEST time getting to work a wedding in Kansas City again! We were at the Missouri Yacht Club and it gave us flashbacks to Dirty Dancing.

The night before the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Marina 27 and the bride's parents hosted a welcome party at their home complete with Kylie and Charlie’s favorite snacks and mixed drinks. It was a great way to start the weekend!

Saturday was when the party really got started! It was truly an honor and a privilege to execute the vision of our bride, Kylie. Every single detail and the creativity was amazing. Every thing was so fun and whimsical…from the color palette to the venue itself. We got to watch the lake community of Lake Lotawana pull out all the stops to make sure they had the perfect day (rain and all!) was nothing short of amazing! Such lovely people!

We had a blast! You guys and your family and friends are incredible!

Thank you to you and your parents for making us feel so very welcome on a very beautiful and special day. Truly a priceless weekend!

Double the weddings, means double the fun!!
We had a Friday and a Saturday wedding a few weeks ago and they were both STUNNING!

First up was Morgan and Matthew at Carper Vineyard & Winery. One of our favorite venues to work! Seriously, if you’re looking for a venue check this place out! Not only is it beautiful but Tracy is amazing to work with! The beautiful cake was done by none other than our most favorite cake baker/decorator Elyse Slaby.

The bridesmaids all went and picked their own bridesmaids bouquets at PepperHarrow. This was such a fun and different idea and they tuned out beautiful! We had such a great day with this amazing couple and their wonderful family and friends! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day! ❤️

Our last wedding of the year was a simply gorgeous December event! There was just enough snow to add a little magic to the day as well!

Truly classic in every sense of the word! From the bride’s beautiful ball gown and long white gloves…sigh! To the ceremony and reception, the day was all about celebrating their love and being with family and friends.

The bride and groom planned a little time to slip away for some photos in a fabulous vintage car and take a little time together before joining their guests at the Tea Room. Once the party started, it didn’t stop until the DJ stopped playing! The dance floor was full all night long as all the guests surrounded the bride and groom with love!

Our very creative bride planned a champagne tower with a champagne pour! Another first for us…building the champagne tower! Can’t wait to do another one! 😊

And last, but certainly not least…our final wedding in October!

And what a day it was! The bride and groom’s vision for their day was spectacular, every planning meeting was a joy! The ceremony and reception were planned to honor both of their families which they did beautifully with many special touches including a memory table with a special tribute to their loved ones who were watching from above.

They wanted their guests to have an amazing experience and what better way to kick a party off than with a mariachi band! From cocktail hour through dinner into the dance, the band played and the dance floor was full! And that continued as the DJ took over the music and they partied into the night!

We would have to say the award for the best late-night snack ever goes to this bride and groom! What could be better than Tasty Tacos? Well…240 Tasty Tacos! AMAZING!

Mid-October brought 2 weddings in one weekend!

The day started at the Basilica of St. Johns with mass to celebrate the love of this beautiful couple! And then it was off to the ever-classic Tea Room. Meeting with the bride and groom over several months was such a joy! They planned such a lovely, traditional wedding with so many very special touches scattered throughout the day…it was their perfect day!

And not only was this day the first day of their lifelong journey as husband and wife, it was also the bride and grooms birthdays! It was our first and possibly only “Birthday” Wedding Cake with a Bride and Groom candle carefully curated by the groom! The party kicked off with the sounds of Max Wellman and his band and the bride and groom danced off into their future!

New Year, New Resolution! 2023 Resolution! Post right after the wedding!

We had a wonderful end to our year where we were blessed to assist with several more stunning weddings and as always, we are so fortunate to meet and get to know the very best people! The joy we experience just hanging in the shadows as we watch our brides, grooms and their family and friends celebrate the love of these couples! Amazing!

But it is catch up time! And we are so excited to share the weddings that wrapped up our 2022! Enjoy!

October brought us several wonderful weddings!

The first was a wedding that was very close to our hearts! The daughter of my sisters best friend married the love of her life and we got front row seats! Having known the Mother of the Bride since she was in high school with my sister, every meeting was blast and a blast from the past! Incorporating so many important family heirlooms throughout the day was a beautiful reflection of their love of family who were shining down on them that day. And the party was a PARTY! Ah! September! Another month…another new venue for us and the pleasure to work with an amazing event manager and their staff – The District Venue in Ankeny!
We loved working with our gorgeous, joy-filled bride and her handsome groom who never took his eyes off his new wife the entire evening! So. Very. Sweet! They planned the perfect day with such a great focus on ensuring their guests had a fabulous time…even the little ones…“Happy Meals” for all of them! A fantastic candy bar complete with all the “old school” favorites…individual name cutouts as their favors and several of the dried roses from their engagement were set at their places. 💕On a day that was stormy and a little drab outside, inside the floral and décor they selected was truly gorgeous and added so much beauty to the day! Our beautiful and oh so sweet August bride and her handsome groom each secretly planned a little surprise for each other! There was a surprise visit by the bride’s favorite pet cat at “first look” (a first for us) for a few snaps which was a huge hit with the bride…and for the groom? A bagpiper…another first for us! As we moved into July, we were once again wowed by an amazing venue! This was our first time at Carper Winery and it was wonderful! The owner and their staff were so easy to work with and we appreciated the opportunity to work with them. As with many July weddings…it was a hot one! We are playing a little “catch up” on our social media posts but better late than never, right? Regardless of the timing, we have been so blessed the past couple of months with the opportunity to work with more amazing brides, grooms and their families! So here we go!

The first of our June Brides! We are always so excited when we get to work in a venue for the first time…and Three Sisters Barn was wonderful! And even better when you are assisting such a fun, lovely couple, and their family! The Mother of the Bride was SO awesome to work with; the Mother of the Bride, along with an army of their nearest and dearest, took their vision and decorated the barn…it was just beautiful! The weather didn’t quite cooperate so there was a shift to an indoor ceremony, but it was just beautiful! Wishing our beautiful bride and her handsome groom a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness! Cheers!🥂
