Our Story
In 1999, Amber Marie, was told about a booth at the Alaska State Fair looking for face painters. She painted a simple heart, was hired, and began at that time, a career in temporary body adornment.
In 2003, Amber created Amber Marie Studios, which over the course of seven years became a slew of different things over different states, parties, and festivals ranging from the mismanaged to the massive. There was glitter tattoos, hair tinsel, prints of artwork, magnets, clocks, fairy portraits, henna, and the main event, face painting.
In 2010, Amber attained a job with an arts council, at the time she believed was a calling to manage things in the non-profit sector. For about five years, she grew to manage events, festivals, and then her own despair as it came crashing down.
In 2016, she finished a Bachelors of Arts degree, and recommitted herself to her art practice. Glittergore was born, with an aim to become the face painter for families that like fun! With designs from glitter to gore, there is something for everyone. Amber partners with some of the best in the business to bring great art and a great experience in face painting and henna.
She believes in artistry, fun, and a commitment to sharing.
