Our Story
I truely believe it was destined for me to start this business. Hello, my name is Andrea Montoya I’m happily married to my best friend Eduardo Montoya who has helped me tremendously in my walk of life. Well, as far as I could remember I have always loved shaved ice, sluppies,slushies anything that really had to do with sweet flavor and ice. As I gotten older that never changed for me. I had never thought of opening up a business but one day my husband said to me “Do something your passionate about and give it all you got” It got me thinking. I said to him after months passing by “let’s open up a shave ice bussiness”. We discussed it and agreed on it. We were so excited to move forward in being entrepreneurs.
One day, I had called my mom and told her our vision of opening up a shave ice business. She had shared with me how my great great grandfather was an owner of his own shave ice business in Riverside Ca. he was very well known and respected and many people wanted his recipes. He was a successful man in his business, she then continue to tell me that my grandfather as well had his own shaved ice business in Northern California(were I grew up at) and was also very succesful in his business. Thats not even the end of it my grand father from my dad’s side as well had his side snowcone business. I was so amazed at my family tree. To think not knowing of my family tree and walking in the foot steps of all my grandfathers is such a honor and I believe God knew all along that I would too be walking in there footsteps in opening our own shave ice business. Its truly a blessing and an honor.
If it doesnt get any crazier than that my husband and I went to go buy a machine and the man we met in Riverside Ca. who sold us his new machine he became our mentor helping us guiding us but the crazy part is we told him my family history and he actually knew my great great grandfather in Riverside Ca. and said wow! I’m mentoring Thee granddaughter of the man who should’ve mentored me. He was the greatest snowcone man in Riverside. We were all in WOW of what a small world we live in. A girl who grew up in a small town in Northern Ca. moves in Southern Ca. and happens to meet a man who sold my husband and I the machine to start our business, mentored us , and knew my great great grandfather. Talk about being ment. I am blessed to be here right now doing what im so passionate about.
