These two are a lifetime 🖤
Backstory: We had to reschedule Rachel and Ethan’s engagement session twice due to all the rain we have been getting the past two weeks. Originally, we were going to meet up in Old Town, Alexandria, a VERY meaningful place for them.
The first date we held out as long as we could and called it at the final hour that it was raining way too hard to try and do their session. Not even cute rain photos would happen 😭
So when the second date rolled around, Rachel hit me up and was like…sooooooooo…..🌧️….and she asked me if I had any suggestions for indoor locations.
I asked her if they would be willing to do an in-home session to which she replied that they actually just closed on their ✨first home✨ and it had JUST been professionally cleaned and painted.
Whale. Whale. Whale, said I. Talk about a meaningful location!!!! Rachel and Ethan got SUPER excited about this new idea and pivoted with such ease.
It was SO meant to be. This last minute change spoke to who they were in a much more intimate and real way. We got to relax and create new, fun memories in their brand new home that they would be starting their lives together as husband and wife in 🖤.

I think often times we think we need to do what everyone else does for big moments. We have to go big, we have to dress up, I need this shot, that shot, whatever Pinteresty thing you can think of. I love getting to know my clients and creating a session that speaks volumes to who they are at their core.

A HUGE thank you to Rachel and Ethan, and all the other clients that trust me with these meaningful moments. The real secret sauce to amazing photos is having a space where people feel comfortable to be themselves and love each other the way THEY express love.

✨Once Upon a Time 🦄
I’ve had the privilege of working with a few clients who already have the honored title of, “mother,” and it always brings me so much joy 🖤 Maybe it’s been unlocked from my own experience with the same title, but in moments like these, it almost feels like a total out of body experience where you can see the future. “Mom getting ready with her little girl” on this day will one day get to be “mom getting ready with her not-so little girl” on HER day. 😭😭😭
Moments like these are just SO special. I can feel it welling up in my chest while capturing moments like this. We have mom with her daughter and her daughter 🖤 UGH. Can you feel it too?
The getting ready part of your wedding day is often SO rushed that I think people forget to stop and appreciate how powerful this time is. So much has led up to this point in time, I would argue that THESE moments are some of the MOST meaningful parts of the day.
So remember to pause and soak up the little moments, folks. Step outside of the moment and realize just how magical it really is ✨

Here we are again, coming full circle from engagement session to wedding day 🥹 It will never stop blowing my mind how quickly we go from our first meeting to wedding day. I always somehow simultaneously feel like, “we just met” and “I’m so happy we are friends now!” When it comes to my wedding couples on their big day. Someone’s wedding day will always matter to me, but it’s so incredible that by the time I get to this day with my couples, I feel a personal excitement as I’ve grown to genuinely know them as individuals.

Happy wedding day to these twoooo! 🍾 being a wedding photographer makes me feel like a time traveler….I swear we just had our initial phone call and then 💥FWABAM💥 WEDDING DAY.

I am SO stoked for Shane and Jessica 🖤 I KNOW…KNOW…today is going to be filled with SO much love, SO much laughter, and it is going to be one of the best. Days. Ever.

I am thoroughly convinced that every couple should do a day after session on the during their Colorado elopement 🚂 We booked the lunch train and got to see some absolutely incredible views while relaxing, snacking, and sipping 🍹10/10 recommend!

Hi, hello, this is me 👋🏼 And if you don’t know ME…like REALLY know me…keep swiping to see the non instagram version of me. Which, I personally prefer. And also my client and incredibly talented friend Nikki ( ) trying to coach me through posing 😂 Because I can pose YOU all day long. I can HYPE you up every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 day 👏🏼….but put ME in front of a camera and I’m the most uncomfortable and awkward 🐢 you’ll ever meet. But I think with the help of amazing friends and fellow hype girls like Nikki, I too will practice what I preach to my clients 😂…one day.

Intimate wedding vows the morning of your wedding day🖤 One of my all time new favorite things I’ve been doing with some of my clients ✨

As I was getting to know Jake and Molly, they mentioned that they are both people who like to keep to themselves and don’t love being the center of attention. They told me more about how they enjoy the simple things in life, like snuggling while drinking coffee…so I suggested, well, why don’t we capture that?

We kept talking and the idea ended up fleshing out into doing a morning session before their wedding where they could get ready together and read their vows privately (…..plus me…😬). And let me tell you folks. It. Was. PERFECT. Alllll of my introverted couples NEED to do this. It was just so…THEM. It spoke to who they were and they both ended their wedding day by saying that the morning vows were absolutely everything they needed and the most meaningful part of their day….And can I also just add what an incredible honor it is to be invited into such an intimate moment with my couples? Ugh. My job is the BEST.

Not seeing each other before the wedding is a ✨tradition✨ based around the idea that it’s “bad luck.” But ‘round here we don’t believe in luck, we believe in BLESSINGS, mkay? And I can guarantee you that the good Lord doesn’t take away any blessings from your marriage because you broke a societal tradition 💁🏻‍♀️.

So let’s normalize this! People are already breaking tradition with the “first look.” However, I feel like we can bump up the intimacy even further with these morning vow sessions. Your hair isn’t done up, your makeup isn’t done up, you are simply just being you. And that’s the best “you” you can be!

I LOVE seeing a man all about his woman. There isn’t a more authentic smile I can possibly capture than when when one person feels the love coming from their significant other. It’s my little cheat code at all my weddings and engagement shoots. Y’all just have to be in love! That’s it! My job is a breeeeeze when I have couples that are truly just all about each other. It’s the secret sauce and the magic behind my photos 🥰

Happy Birthday to ME 🎉
That’s right, lovers. SURPRISE. Today is MY day. Muahahahaha.
K so but seriously, I thought this was a great opportunity to introduce myself to the many new followers I’ve seemed to procure recently. So, to keep the trend of showing more of myself, here are a few fun photos and facts about, yours truly.

1. I don’t surf. I’m 🌺Hawaiian and Puerto Rican🏝️and I do not surf. This photo was taken after eating a lot of sand. I also do not like the taste of sand.
2. This is the moment I realized spontaneously free climbing a 40 foot rock that ranged from 45 degree angles to almost 90 degree angles, in kiziks, with my nails done, in shorts…was a horrible idea. I’m a gluten for adventure and abuse my mother’s prayers often. I also love rock climbing, hiking, and most things outdoors. 🧗🏼‍♀️
3. This is me on top of that rock. Because I am hard headed and WILL PREVAIL HARDSHIP!!! 🔥 And yes. Yes it was difficult to get down.
4. This is me on top of that same rock at a different angle…because I was stuck up there for a long time trying to figure out how to get down. I figured it out. Because I am a problem solver….and stupid fun.⛰️
5. This is me and my offspring sharing one of my greatest passions. I am raising him to be your future king. 👑
6. Here I am at a bar that has 100s of board games. Because my ideal for going out involves good friends, learning a silly board game, and much laughter. 🧩
7. I freaking love playing old school Nintendo games and acted like a complete child before and after this pic. My downtime includes reading comics and all sorts of books. I am also currently obsessed with animal crossing. 🦝🎮📚
8. My offspring’s first spartan race (he was happier, I swear). I love fitness and find these races to be the upmost of fun! 🏋🏽‍♀️
9. Me and some beloved clients. I freaking love being a wedding photographer and plan on being your best friend by the time the wedding day rolls around. 😻
10. Here’s just an awesome photo of God’s creation. I am a believer that Christ is my savior and base my life and business and give all glory to Him. All of you are fearfully and wonderfully made and always welcome at the table ✝️

Learning to embrace the other side of the camera is something I have always struggled with. When my clients come to me and tell me they are uncomfortable or awkward in photos, or worse…they just straight up don’t like how they look🚫*lies*🚫…I always tell them, “ME TOO. “ We hates it.

It’s ironic, I. KNOW. But for 10 years I’ve been getting people to feel confident and comfortable enough in their own skin to document their precious moments in life. So I feel like maybe it’s time I do the same?

I want my clients to LOVE themselves. Show off your weirdness, embrace your imperfection! Because we are our own worst critics and the devil is a liar *insert church stompin*. You don’t need no photoshop! God did not create junk!!! And I stand by that when I work with others…I just…haven’t really always practiced what I preached 😬 So let’s all work on it together, shall we?

Always remember, “You are fearfully and WONDERFULLY made.”

They asked me to go somewhere warm and I did not hesitate. ☀️🏝️🌊

Winter is tough on many of us *cough cough 🙋🏻‍♀️. So this trip was everything I needed and more. Let this be your sign from your friendly neighborhood photographer to go get you some sunshine. Literal sunshine. We are all lacking that vitamin D right now and it shoooows. The big sad has taken over many of my friends! So but ALSO (and just as importantly) don’t forget to get the sunshine that comes from the people we love most in this world, the little moments in life, and above all-from the good Lord who loves you 🖤

Stay strong my friends! Winter will soon pass ☀️

Buddy Boy 🖤
I seriously cannot express how much joy these moments brought me. I had the opportunity to bring my son along with me for a wedding and I never could have imagined how special this moment could be!

The best part, he LOVED it. Ugh. This fueled my mama heart! Sharing your passions with your kid is seriously one of the greatest joys life has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised that he WANTED to join me and genuinely was excited to be my little helper. I selfishly hope he continues to have a genuine interest because how freaking cool would it be to have a mother/son duo!

And before anyone freaks out, this was the wedding of an incredibly close family so he had a lot of cousin friends and honorary aunties and uncles to hang with. He’s definitely not ready to be by my side for weddings, and “worked” in spurts 🤣. In case you couldn’t tell by the Polaroid camera, he wasn’t really “working” lol. But this was a phenomenal test run to see if he liked working with Mama….one day kid, one day.

🚨WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS, please watch! It’s a little lengthy but it’s also worth it. Let’s talk about ✨ergonomics ✨ TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. Backstory: I’ve been shooting weddings for 10 years and started having some health concerns starting back in 2022. I shot a 16 hour wedding day and my hand went kaput on me. A vein was bulging out, my hand and wrist were swollen, and I even lose feeling in my hands and feet/legs from time to time! YES. So hear me when I tell you: This job IS taking a toll on your body. And I would rather you start thinking about this stuff NOW before you end up like me, facing some ✨potentially✨ serious PERMANENT damage (tbd) Buy a wrist support RIGHT. NOW. Do stretches after every wedding. Strength train your arms, shoulders, and back. Go to the chiropractors, get in physical therapy if you can, do ALL THE THINGS. And do them NOW. PREVENT damage. As I said in the video, I’m not in any way, shape or form a professional physical therapist. But I am a walking billboard and advocate for taking care of yourself and preventing any sort of worst case scenario. 🔗You can find the links for the products I mentioned in my story and if you’re watching this later, in my story highlights. It’s so important you get some of these products, specifically, 🚨10/10 recommend the wrist support🚨 It could have saved me so much of the pain and doctors’ visits I’m currently dealing with. If you guys like these little tips, let me know! I have learned much more from physical therapy and am more than happy to share some more healing and preventative tips I’ve learned.
