Becoming a destination adventure elopement photographer and guiding couples through the elopement process has been so rewarding! 😍
One of my favorite things is to share the outdoors with couples and help them have their most memorable adventure yet!
Photographing adventure weddings and elopements is what I’m the most passionate about, but it means more to me than just a job!
The reason I connect with the concept of adventure elopements so much is because of how I am at my core:
I love traveling.
I love the outdoors and finding new remote locations for ceremonies. I love scouting so much that I even do it in my free time and during my own vacations!
I love providing couples a creative and customized solution so they don't have to go to a courthouse or be stressed out planning a big wedding that they never wanted.
I love that elopements keep the guest count small so that couples can keep things meaningful.
I love that elopements are low-impact on the environment. The average wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage and 63 tons of CO2.
This is the best job in the world as far as I'm concerned! I started photographing weddings when I was a junior in college more than a decade ago. And since then, I've built my life around adventure and preserving lasting relationships and memories for all types of couples!
Not only am I here to capture your good side amongst epic backgrounds, I’ll make sure to give you the best experience possible that feels like you. And we’ll be fast friends in no time!

Would you have your Maternity session on the beach?! 😍
What's better than having a breathtaking backdrop for your maternity photos? A stunning sunset on the beach to commemorate this time as a mom experiencing one of the most beautiful things in this world, motherhood!
Here are a couple of tips to help you plan for a beach maternity photoshoot! 🤩
Always make sure to keep an eye on the tidepool and waves depending on what beach you are at! 🌊
The beach can be very unpredictable with crashing waves, rocky tides, and cold temperatures so you want to come prepared!
Always be mindful of the location you select for your maternity photos as you don't want to be stressed and uncomfortable during your session!
Schedule your shoot for just before sunset, during golden hour! ☀️
This is the best time of the day to get the perfect "shot". This is because there are fewer harsh shadows and provides you with a softer light that flatters all skin tones!
And last but not least! Make sure to get photos with the whole family and without! 📸
You'll want to incorporate photos with all your kiddos and husband as well as just mom and dad and some by yourself!
Document every single moment and the beautiful thing you created! A baby!

Eloping in CA? Consider these 5 locations! ✨
- Malibu
- Joshua Tree
-Big Sur
- Catalina Island
- Yosemite
Elopements are about creating an experience to celebrate your story and the beginning of your happily ever after. I am here to help you have the adventure of a lifetime by getting to know you both and recommending locations based on your preferences and what’s meaningful to you. Whether that's in Malibu, Joshua Tree, Big Sur, Catalina Island, Yosemite, or a location of your choosing! (I am also open to traveling to other locations for an elopement). What's great about having an elopement guide as your photographer is that we shoot elopements at multiple places and know them like the back of our hands!
I’ll work with you to create a custom timeline, handpick and refer trusted vendors, and assist you with the not-so-fun paperwork. And I can legally sign as your officiant, which comes in handy for two-person elopements and in locations that are a little more remote!
My favorite part is combining the beauty of nature with all of the in-between emotional, spontaneous, and candid moments that make your day special and your connect with each other unique. I'm always so honored that I get to document couples, authentic love, through artful storytelling in the great outdoors.

5 Reasons to Elope
5 Reasons Why You Should Elope💚
1. Intimate Ceremony
Having an elopement puts the focus on nothing else but the love you have for one another. It allows you to cherish the day and each other rather than having the distractions of wedding details and time constraints. It allows you to have an intimate ceremony with just the two of you.
2. The "Just Us" feeling
When having an elopement you have more alone time with your significant other, it feels like it's just you and them and no one else. Elopements are so much more intimate than big weddings. Although it fits certain personality types to have a wedding where all the people you and your parents know from all over attend, being able to have an intimate wedding with just you and your partner as well as your photographer and officiant (or in this case just me, your photographer since I'm ordained too!) is much more intimate.
3. Stress-Free Planning
Weddings can take up to years of planning, with elopements it can take weeks or even days! Besides, when you have an elopement there's WAY more flexibility. Since it's just you and your partner, things like location, timing, etc are a lot easier to decide on. You won't have to worry about accommodating others.
4. Epic Locations
The choices you have with elopements are endless!! With elopements every single "rule" or obligation that we think "big weddings" have are non-existent. With elopements, couples have WAY more choices for their wedding day.
5. Amazing Photos
Imagine getting married at the top of a mountain after you've hiked up to the most breathtaking view or having your backdrop and ceremony location be right in front of a glistening waterfall or even desert flats in Joshua Tree! Nature is the perfect and most gorgeous backdrop for a wedding and makes for some amazing photos!

I'm so EXCITED to share my new website done by an actual designer! I've DIY'ed several template websites for myself over the years, but this year, I invested in a brand and web designer. This whole process took 12 months..it shouldn't have taken that long, but the first designer I hired ended up not working out, but she came up with some great fonts! The second designer I hired was Kate Tolmie because I knew she'd do an excellent job with the logo! The third designer brought all of my ideas together, made them better and created the actual site. For anyone curious, it's a showit site. It was important to me to be able to have easy ability with making updates to things on the back end while also having a custom site. And it's a wordpress based blog, so excellent for SEO.
This year was just as much of a mixed bag of emotions as 2020, but somehow in the midst of the chaos of these times, it was pretty clear to me early on in the pandemic that this new niche direction of wedding photography felt most authentic to who I am today. I know it sounds cheesy, but this new website and brand has given me a lot of renewed confidence..much more so than my squarespace template website! hahah . Who knows what 2022 will bring, but it feels good to head into it with a clear focus. I've always felt that when I have clarity, I have freedom. When I have freedom, the possibilities are endless 😉 I hope all of you have had some renewed clarity these past 20-ish months. Happy New Year!
Reason #3 Why you should Elope
More focus on what truly matters. Love.❤️
Having an elopement puts the focus on nothing else but the love you have for one another. It allows you to cherish the day and each other rather than having the distractions of wedding details and time constraints.
With big weddings, couples typically value being around family, tradition, community, and friends on their special day.
With elopements couples typically value the experience of being with each other (or just a few important people that mean the most to them) over the parties. They love the adventure, the intimacy of the day, breathtaking photos, and unforgettable experiences.

It's been over 10 years now and I still find it thrilling to photograph couples in love and capture their moments, big and small, heartfelt and silly, timeless and candid. All of it is important to observe and to capture. Each couple has their own dynamic, and that's what keeps it fresh. I am so grateful that I can combine my love for the outdoors with my passion for capturing moments and I’m so honored to witness such a special day in the lives of couples that hire me. I wouldn't ask to have it any other way or have any other job out there. Photography brings so much joy into my life as well as my clients, one of the many reasons why I stick with it and will always! So excited to see what's to come for 2022!

Where to Elope on Catalina Island
Where to Elope on Catalina Island
There are two towns on Catalina Island, Avalon and Two Harbors they are like night and day in comparison. Both are beautiful locations for an elopement, but when you consider how relatively small Catalina Island is, it’s incredible how different they are. Two Harbors, for instance, is a rustic little village with very little development, other than a friendly bar, and patio-style restaurant/cafe. It offers that kinda Hawaii feels, and a laid-back vibe. Many backpackers arrive in Two Harbors to start their trans Catalina Island hike.
Avalon on the other hand is much larger, more developed, and offers non-locals that sort of Positano, Italian Riviera feels. Many day-trippers visit Avalon during the week, and they all come in search of the area’s bougie, buzzy atmosphere.
As a couple planning an elopement, Catalina Island offers a unique opportunity. As you have two entirely different locations to tie the knot in or explore, on the same, small island. It’s now also possible to explore both ends of Catalina on the same day via the Cyclone boat. A high-speed powerboat that takes passengers on a stunning cruise from Green Pier in Avalon, along the coast, and into the village of Two Harbors. All in less than 40 minutes! Perfect if you want to visit both locations in one day while your elopement photographer is with you! So when planning your elopement always think of the vibe you want and which town would fit that!
Just as Peter and Marta did. They chose to have a full-day elopement on Catalina Island in Two Harbors! They wanted a care-free and fun-filled day all to themselves, so this was the perfect place!
