Heart’s Content is a Wedding Planning and Design studio located in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and offers a variety of wedding planning, coordination, and design services. Although Heart’s Content is located in the beautiful state of Virginia, we are willing and ready to travel throughout the US and the world to help make your wedding day spectacular and truly memorable! I truly believe that every we

dding should be a matter of the heart! This means that every detail seen, every song sung, every moment experienced, and every element involved in your special day should tell a story about what makes you, and your love so special! This is why I abide by an “Open Heart Policy” with all of my couples. I want you to feel so comfortable with me as your planner and your friend that you are able to wear your heart on your sleeve, and tell me your likes, dislikes, quirks, joys, sorrows, and everything in between! It is in doing this that I am able to plan a wedding that is uniquely you, and truly matches your Heart’s Content! I’m so excited and honored that you took the time to check us out! 36 trips around the sun — and every one has taught me something about grace, grit, and glowing from the inside out. I’m softer in some places, stronger in others, and still a little spicy where it counts. Just call me a “Sassy Older Lady” (Big Thanks to for that one! Myself and so many others feel so seen!! 💅🏽)! ✨ *Grateful Hearts, Warm Memories* ✨

Today, as the aroma of delicious food fills the air and laughter surrounds the table, I’m reminded of the joy that comes from bringing people together. Thanksgiving is a time to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the love that surrounds us—not just today, but in every moment we create.

As a wedding planner, I have the honor of witnessing love in its purest form: the vows exchanged, the families united, and the laughter shared over a beautifully set table. It’s these moments that remind me why I do what I do.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the couples who trust me to help tell their love stories, the incredible vendors who turn dreams into reality, and the family and friends who inspire me to bring joy and connection into every detail.

My dearest Josh, my one and only, my honey bunny and sweetheart,

I’m so happy that, on this day, 10 years ago, I found the person that I wanted to annoy for the rest of my life. That’s right, no refunds! You’re stuck with me! May the odds be ever in your favor! 😂

In all seriousness, I’ve been really reflecting on these past ten years lately and everything we’ve been through, and I’m not going to lie, it hasn’t been easy. There have been a lot of core moments that have, unfortunately, been seeped in tragedy. From caring for my mom in her illness, to her passing, to “The Great Rat Sightings of 2015” (you know what I mean…that was atrocious), to the unexpected passing of close family members and friends, two house floods and being displaced from our home for more than half of a year, the sudden illness and loss of Nina, “Plumbing Gate” (which continues to be a struggle), James’ health journey, and the list goes on…somehow in each hard moment that comes our way, we manage to not only find sparks of joy and bursts of so much laughter through it all, but also use these moments as a way to strengthen our relationship.

Yes, life and marriage may be hard, AND I am certain beyond any reasonable doubt that you are my person, my soulmate, my everything, and the perfect life partner for me. There is no one I would rather go through life’s mountains and valleys with. I’m grateful for every second of life by your side, and without hesitation, will weather every adventure life presents as long as you are there. You are my WHY. You are my everything.

Today’s our 10-year Biz-a-versary!! Yes, that’s right!! Heart’s Content is TEN YEARS OLD!!

Ten years ago, during a very hard season for me and my family, I made a choice to trust God with all I had and everything I am, and I never looked back. Heart’s Content has truly been the blessing the keeps on giving. Not only has it given me hope, but it’s opened my eyes to great possibilities in my life. Not only has it given me companionship, but it’s become a vehicle to strengthen my marriage, it encouraged my friendships, it gathered a team of individuals who are just as passionate about our heart and vision as I am, and brought so many incredible couples our way that we have had the absolute honor of serving. Not only has it given me so many great memories, but it has allowed me to opportunity to do what I love WHILE loving on my family that much more. This gift of a business has given me so much, and my heart is above and beyond full.

So cheers to 10 years! Cheers to every single couple that chose us and even considered us to serve them on their special day. Cheers to every single vendor we’ve been blessed to make great memories with, and the friendships we’ve formed in the process. Today is my birthday!!

It’s easy to make these posts cliche and to make cute little lists about what I might tell my younger self, or lessons I’ve learned. Don’t get me wrong…I’d have so much to say. But if this year has taught me anything, it’s taught me to be grateful in all things. Through ups and downs, through 2 floods that displaced us from our home, through many hospital visits and health scares with James, through time learning growing and falling in love and choosing love with Josh over and over again, through the tragic loss of our sweet Nina girl, through many moments of hustle, and even more moments of joy and growth in my business…man…all I can say is I’m grateful to be here.

I think the thing I’m most grateful for is CONNECTION. The connection I’ve felt with my husband, Josh, as we’ve navigated hills and valleys in our home and even in business. I truly couldn’t do this life without him, and he truly is my heart, my emotional anchor, my best friend. The connection I’ve felt with James and Nora—I know I’m their mom, but I really feel like these are the two most amazing kids alive, even when they are testing my patience 😂. I know they will be world changers someday—I feel that in my gut. Can’t wait to sit on the sidelines to watch it unfold. The connection I feel with my family and friends—we are small but mighty and God has seen us through so much, and yet we are still here, pursuing life, together. The connection I have with the HCE team, in which, every day, I’m reminded how truly BLESSED I am to have team members that I can not only call friends, but who are just as passionate about our purpose and the pursuit of this BIG dream. The connection with our couples—getting to be a party of their day, watching them share vows, profess their love, and getting to witness the simple joys in between…truly makes all the long nights, the hustle, and all of it so worth it.

I really don’t know what I did to deserve this life, but I am grateful to God every day that I am here. Happy 33 to me 💗

Being Ravenn’s friend has been one of the absolute joys of my life, and on this day, nothing made me happier than to see her marry the love of her life, Dan!

Their day was so true to them, both elegant and fun, with so many meaningful pieces that showcased their love for one another. You can see their unending care and respect for one another from a mile away, right?

I have heard countless stories from brides about why they chose their bridesmaids. Sweet stories from childhood, mending broken hearts, sister bonds stronger than steel, and many more!

Stories like our bride Charay, who was with her best friend getting donuts at Krispy Kreme and just happened to pass Langston, her now-husband, and his dad on the street when Langston stopped in his tracks and told her “You’re so beautiful!” Her best friend was standing with her then and stood with her on her wedding day. 😭

I love hearing these stories because it gives meaning to the reason those individuals are standing with that bride on their special day. You know I love giving things meaning! 💞

And because you know I also love details, I am committed to incorporating special touches for the bridesmaids. Even the smallest things like learning each wedding party member’s names makes a huge difference. It sends a message I love to sing to the rooftops: your presence matters!!

In a recent conversation with Josh...

Me: What is one thing you could tell your “soon-to-be-a-new-dad” self six years ago?

Josh: Learn to be patient.

I think it’s safe to say that when we took this first photo, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. But 6+ years later, these simple words couldn’t be more true. And in my eyes, through the ups and downs and loopty loops of parenting, he’s been an anchor of patience, and love, and kindness, and determination, and everything in between. For all of that, and because of all that you are, we celebrate you on this day and always. Thank you for being the best YOU, just for us. We love you, Josh. Happy Father’s Day 💗💗💗

Today is and the only thing sweeter are these stacks of donut favors wrapped in satin ribbon and a gold foil-pressed favor tag from Langston and Charay’s wedding last October!!! What’s so cute is they met near Krispy Kreme in DC, after years of riding the same metro to work and working just blocks from one another. Their love story really took the saying “everything in its perfect timing” to a whole new meaning! We were so honored to be a part of their day, and so excited that they shared this sweet part of their love story with all their guests!!
