Super happy for The Manna Food Project on winning last night’s Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Award. I was glad to be present for and shooting during the event and for that moment as Johnny and I have done a few videos with Manna and I’m a big fan of their team.

Congratulations to The Manna Food Project for being named the Chairman's Award Winner at last nights Celebration of Champions event. "From humble beginnings in a small warehouse on Buckley Street in Petoskey, Manna has grown into a lifeline for thousands. Today, they serve an astounding 40,000 people every month across Emmet, Antrim, and Charlevoix Counties. They partner with over 40 local organizations, host pantries, and provide delivery services—all powered by a devoted team of just seven staff members and more than 300 passionate volunteers."

My family and I recently returned from a trip out east...a trip that included my first time in New York City. The day we went to the Statue of Liberty National Monument was rainy, foggy, and overcast but those conditions made for some unique scenes of the well known, well photographed monuments. This shot ended up being my favorite from the NYC portion of our vacation.

Speaking of fall color tour/this area’s history…take a walk through Greenwood Cemetery right now. I was amazed by the military veterans and how far back they go when we’ve shot there…as well as some of the unique headstones.

Your Petoskey area peak color tour should definitely include a stop at Coveyou Scenic Farm Market!

I love fall, I love this area…and I love this farm/Kathy & Dave. The farm, still, is a respite for me…and so much more so at this time of year. Stop for the views, pumpkins 🎃 (they’re LOADED!), hayride (this weekend)…or to take in a little history as they close out the family’s 150th year on the land.

Some straight into the Aurora vortex action…

Luke and I were outside watching the Aurora when it ramped up, fast. We yelled for everyone else and they came out to bright greens and visible reds…but then, suddenly, the sky over our heads and SOUTH of us went nuts. Jenn, the kids, Johnny and I all stood baffled and looked into this for a good 7-10 minutes.

Last night was…spectacular.

Pics aren’t great…quick and grainy. I was really trying to enjoy the moment…but got some video too.

Johnny, my family, and I witnessed 20 minutes of some of the greatest Aurora displays we've seen to date. Johnny said at one point, "should we be worried?"...cause it was so otherworldly. Both my kids got some cool shots and I can't wait to post mine...here's some of Belle's from her phone!

Last night’s partial lunar eclipse 🌔

None of us knew this was happening. Belle and I were riding on the 4 wheeler and saw the moon just starting to peak above the horizon…in all of its orange, giant, and full glory. A little later Johnny and I came outside and I noticed the top right of the moon looked strange and spent a couple minutes trying to convince him and Belle it wasn’t normal and couldn’t be a cloud as it wasn’t moving. A short Google search later and off to get the super zoom and tripod I went…
