Nine (!) years ago my city cowboy proposed to me in our tiny kitchen in San Francisco. One knee was touching the linoleum, other pointed square at my blubbering face. I was working from home, in sweats griping about the last email I had to send while also cursing the institution of marriage. “I mean, it’s only so recently that people marry for love, you know? Like how much would my dowry really have been?!!” It felt like it was 10 seconds later that a garnet ring initialized in front of my face. I said yes.
We’d already planned to go to a show at that night, so it being an impromptu engagement party was icing on the cake. We got drunk with friends and danced the night away with .
A few years ago, one of the singers from the band posted on their Facebook they’d found extra merch from their early days. Imagine my great surprise that there was a show poster the night we got engaged. I didn’t even know one existed. I promptly ordered one. It hangs in our new desert home now, a fabulous reminder of a night well celebrated.
The fact that the day we got engaged has commemorative art tickles my soul. Happy , . Thanks for proposing on Friday the 13th, and not on Valentine’s Day itself, like an amateur 😘

Happy 20th anniversary, Rickshaw Stop. I (mostly) remember the early days of drinking Sofia minis and cutting a rug during nights like Club I-D.
Little did I know that later in my life I’d become a photographer and snap shots, backstage and onstage, of artists coming thru; then work nights doing hospitality and ticketing; then manage the door & guest lists for the club directly during the most sold out shows.
Some of my fave stories include:
🌟 the Jawbreaker / vent incident
🌟 Lady Sovereign’s meltdown
🌟 getting In-N-Out delivered to me during the Sam Smith show
🌟 Dan Akroyd not knowing how a wristband worked
🌟 every staff holiday party I was invited to

to one of my first published pieces - in my high school newspaper! PR houses in those days did not discriminate when it came to amassing clips. Didn’t matter if it was from or The Raider Review in San Jose, CA 🗞️ Who knew 16 year old me would get to do the same thing professionally, post college, for a number of years?
This is special as it was one of the first times I ever photographed and wrote a feature, a true double threat. The markup shown was a result of doing a deep dive, post every issue, to find opportunities for improvement. Big shout to for always pushing us.
I don’t think will remember our interview from 2000, but thanks for such a wonderful memory at and for my signed promo shot when we met after the show.

Does someone know why ’s third album “Brand New Eyes” is going for $500 (?!?) at my local thrift store? Was there a misprint in the liner notes or extra tracks for a limited released version?
I cannot find info on this. Most copies online are going for $15-20 so I’m over here like 😵💫 trying to figure it out 🧐

The scene 6 years ago: working hard in the box office with a client, stepping away to finally eat the dinner delivered to you by the catering team (bless you angels), and you realize there’s no utensils that came with. You find a (clean) knife left over from lunch service. You contemplate what it will look like to try and use this to eat noodles with. You don’t care. You are now one with the mac and cheese. 🍝

Still feeling that high about winning last night 😍😌🥳 we tied for first place TWICE during the night. We had to do some serious tie breakers for extra points. Cue air guitar to and knowing that are Scottish for the win 🥇
