How Kate Beck came to be an event planner...
Hailing from South Florida, my party planning days really began while attending Florida State University. I've planned campus-wide events & numerous themed parties there, then work parties & excursions for a language school in Prague, then non-profit workshops & fundraisers back in my hometown of Miami.
One summer, I visited Asheville, NC by chance and fell in love with this unique city & the magical Blue Ridge mountains surrounding it. Shortly after this trip, I accepted a job offer to run the wedding program at the North Carolina Arboretum. Fast forward to hundreds of brides and grooms, many picturesque Western North Carolina venues and joyful relationships with clients and vendors all over - I couldn't picture myself doing anything else.
My favorite aspects of this industry are the fast-paced and creative energy and sense of community, I love bringing people together for a good time. I believe in a relaxed approach when guiding the planning and design process, creating a fun and stress-free experience.
When I'm not sprinting for bridal veils, driving a golf cart through the woods or doing any of the other awesome surprise elements that come with the job, you can find me trekking through nature, travelling, wearing funky jackets while brewery hopping, hanging with my part-gremlin/part-dog Loki, enjoying the local food scene and drinking lots of coffee (and rosé).
