Delivering the 180 personal charcuterie boards that will be place settings for the Clark County Veterans Assistance Center Red White and Blue Gala benefit at Ilani tomorrow afternoon. Thomas served during Vietnam and afterwards as a VSO Veterans Service Officer for Nabvets PDX helping Veterans get their benefits. CCVAC does the same thing and is incredibly worthy of our support and sponsorship. Please consider finding them online and donating in Thomas's name.

What do you put in your baked beans? Our recipe has not changed much since our restaurant on Williams in the early 90's that was the original Mr Browns recipe handed down from "Daddy Buddy" Rufus Brown. I still make it just by feel no measurements after all these decades could do it with my eyes shut channeling the spirits of my first 2 generations of teachers; half a century of eating and cooking some of the best food around.
Sweet Savory Smokey Spicy Tangy Meaty Colorful DELICIOUS! Beans, bacon, celery, onion, peppers, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, and the Secret Mr Browns BBQ Spice. Slow cooked for hours.

Was cooking ribs low and slow for a family get together this afternoon but found out I need to be there a couple hours early. No worries just cut em up throw them in a pan and drown them in sauce. Not my preference but they will taste great!
