Award-winning wedding photographer Photos by Yaz specializes in capturing candid, emotion, and iconic images. I was born in Corpus Christi but practically raised in the capital city. I graduated with a degree in photography but the most important thing I gained from college was a group of friends I trust enough to pick off their plate without having to ask. I have 2 dogs I call my children, and I

love food just as much as I love my stretchy pants. I try my best to be a girly-girl and keep up with my nails, my eyebrows, and even the mustache my momma gave me, but I was raised with 4 brothers and I'm more of a t-shirt and no-bra kinda girl. Like any great “pinterester”, I love trying new recipes and have many DIY projects that I'll probably never finish. On Sundays, you'll find me waking up just in time for brunch as I desperately search for my glasses and try to get oriented. "Where's my phone?"
"My bladder is so full, I can't walk." "Is that poop? Nope. Just a sock." I have a love for people and human connections. I'd rather talk about how you grew up and how it's shaped you into the person you are rather than what the weather has been like. I believe we should celebrate each other in every way because we're all just kids on this playground with our own fears and insecurities. AS A PHOTOGRAPHER:
My focus is to capture your story and personality. Traditional wedding photography has a reputation of being very static and overly-posed -- this is not my style. I enjoy working with romantic, fun and quirky people. I might ask you to grab your partner's butt. I might ask you to tell them a couple of reasons you admire them. I may even ask you to dance. Weddings are stressful, I KNOW!!! My goal is to turn busy, messy, and distracting into simple, elegant, and beautiful. I put artistry in my images as opposed to just snapping pictures. Picture this: a sunny afternoon spent wandering through the very land they’ll get married on, Mason and Claire laughing together like they’re the only two people on the planet, the kind of laughter that feels like sunlight on your skin. Their engagement session wasn’t just about snapping photos; it felt like documenting love in its most raw, real, unfiltered form. But oh, their story? It’s the kind of meet-cute magic that deserves its own rom-com.

Claire told me about the night they met—a random Tuesday at McIntyres in Houston. It was one of those nights where you reluctantly leave the couch because your friends insist. She was on a date, Mason wasn’t, and fate clearly had a different agenda. Mason introduced himself as “Mason McEntire,” leaving Claire convinced he owned the place (spoiler alert—he doesn’t). Then came his bold opener that I’ll admit is a Hall of Fame move. “It must not be going that well because you don’t have a ring on your finger,” he said. Excuse me?! Somehow, that line didn’t just work—it started their whole love story. Claire gave him her number (because, obviously) and their first date happened a week later. From that moment, they’ve been inseparable.

Mason and Claire, I couldn’t adore your story more or feel more honored to capture this season of your lives. The way you hold each other, the way you laugh together, and the quiet strength you carry—it’s the kind of love that reminds us all why we believe in happily-ever-afters.

Where do I even begin? 29 weddings! 🤯 Can you even believe it? From the rolling hills of Texas to the vibrant energy of Colorado and the classic charm of New Jersey, I’ve had the absolute honor of capturing love stories unfolding across this beautiful country.

And let’s not forget the 12 proposals! 😭 The raw emotion, the surprise, the pure joy... it’s a privilege to witness those moments of pure magic. And those 5 elopements? Intimate, adventurous, and oh-so-romantic.

But you know what? It wasn’t just about the weddings. We documented 3 incredible corporate events, proving that even in the boardroom, there’s room for creativity and connection.

On a personal level, this year has been a rollercoaster. We chased our dreams in Japan, a land of breathtaking beauty and profound culture. We welcomed a new furry family member (hello, our new feline overlord! 😻) and helped plan my niece’s wedding – a whirlwind of excitement and (let’s be real) a little bit of chaos.

But amidst the joy, there was also heartbreak. We experienced the devastating loss of a pregnancy, a reminder that life is precious and unpredictable.

Through it all, I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned that resilience is a muscle you have to build. I’ve learned that vulnerability is strength. And I’ve learned that even in the darkest moments, there is always beauty to be found.

2024 was a year of wild tides, unexpected grace, and a whole lot of love. ❤️

Allow me to introduce Mitchell + Joelle. Coming from similar ranching and agricultural backgrounds, they grew up just 20 miles apart in Lockhart and Bastrop. While their lives were marked by a series of delightful coincidences —like childhood swim lessons with the same instructor in Lockhart, their paths didn’t officially cross until they were introduced in 2016.

When Joelle moved to San Antonio for her residency, Mitchell joined her, pursuing his passion for aviation full-time and on Aug 4th Mitchell proposed in a touching tribute to Joelle’s grandmother, presenting Joelle with a redesigned heirloom piece of jewelry on what would have been her grandmother’s 85th birthday.

They finally met in person in Fort Lauderdale as Michael was pursuing his airline training and Rachel was enjoying her annual girl’s trip. Rachel finds joy in dancing with Mike, while he cherishes her spontaneity, like initiating a round of Call of Duty on a mundane weeknight.

During a romantic getaway in Rome, In their cozy hotel room with a stunning window view of the lively streets below. On the closing night of their Roman adventure, Michael asked Rachel to open the window, saying it was warm. He seized the moment and as Rachel turned, she found Michael on one knee, asking her to marry him! 🥰

AS A PERSON: Hola! If you don't know by now, my name is Yazmin and I am a portrait and wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas. I was born in Corpus Christi, but practically raised in the capital city. I graduated with a degree in photography and took on portraits and weddings as my specialty. Most importantly I have a husband I'm blessed to share my life and Moscato with, I have 4 dogs I call my children, and I love food just as much as I love my stretchy pants. I try my best to be a girlie-girl and keep up with my nails, my eyebrows, and even the mustache my momma gave me, but I'm really just a messy-bun and popcorn kinda girl. Like any great “pinterester”, I love trying new recipes and have many DIY projects that I'll probably never start/finish. While I'd love to say I wake up at 4:45am -- just like my sister, eager to start my workout at the gym, the truth is I love sleep and wake up at an unspeakable time in a desperate search for my glasses. I have a love for people and human connections. I believe we should celebrate each other in every way because we're all just kids on this playground we call Earth, with our own fears and insecurities.
