Last one for today! Just loved everything about this wedding day. The relaxed timeline, the simple ceremony, the focus on quality time and conversation with their guests. Michelle and Mike have my heart. So, so happy for them.

I spy, with my little eye, a beautiful bride and handsome groom amidst the trees at their Leavenworth VRBO wedding venue. So thankful Michelle and Mike were open to trekking through the spiderweb filled woods to get some beautiful landscape shots that will forever remind them of the beautiful setting they enjoyed with their nearest and dearest during their long wedding weekend. My only regret after walking through the woods? The feeling of bugs (that weren’t there, it was my imagination) crawling on my legs all night.

Michelle and Mike’s “plan c” wedding finally happened in Leavenworth this past Saturday. They were originally going to get married in Arlington, then covid happened. Then they planned a smaller wedding in Monroe but the venue sold. Plan C cake into play at a gorgeous VRBO in Leavenworth and maybe this is when the “everything happens for a reason” saying can be appropriately applied. ☺️ So many beauties to share from this weekend, but I’ll start here.

One last photo for today because: kissing newlyweds, veils in the wind, and a classic B&W edit feels like a good way to round out the day of sneak peeks.

This couple. 🥰 At the end of our time together yesterday, we drove up the gravel road from the private residence they had gotten married at to take some more portraits (see last post for those gems!!!!). Once we were done they handed my second shooter and I cash tips which was SO unexpected and such a treat. (Hello, post wedding pedicure!) And then I shared a couple unedited sneak peeks from the back of my camera. Megan immediately started crying and said, “I’ve seen enough, you’ve made all my wedding dreams come true!!!” ….and I was a puddle. This little business of mine is something I do because I LOVE it; I love the stolen glances during a ceremony, tears during toasts, falling in love with my couples and meeting their families… Weddings are a rare chance to have every single person you love in your life in one place, at one time, TOGETHER. Sometimes weddings are the last time that happens; and it is the highest honor to be there to make sure everyone has beautiful photos to remember their loved ones by. Thank you for supporting my business and inviting me into your lives.

Yesterday. I can’t. 🥰😭🥰 Megan and Daniel are one of my covid-couples. Their original wedding date was rescheduled early during covid to later in the year… and then that wedding date was rescheduled too. They decided to put their marriage first and elope this year with only immediate family in attendance; then have the big wedding and reception next year. Yesterday. It was all so beautiful and SO emotional. Megan cried when she did her first look with her father, and as he walked her down the aisle she paused at the end of the aisle and cried the happiest tears for what felt like a couple minutes before composing herself and standing alongside Daniel. They put their marriage before the big party and I 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 there 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 it. 👏🏻 Why delay starting your life together? So happy these two didn’t delay any longer. Can’t wait to PARTYRRTTTYYYYY next year at the big reception!

Delivering this maternity session today! Photos on this walking bridge were a last minute idea on the walk back to our cars, and I’m so happy we stopped to indulge in the idea.

These two. 🥰 Alysha and Jacob are PNW natives but were planning to have an East Coast wedding on the Fourth of July last year. While covid changed those plans, it didn’t stop them from focusing on their marriage and pivoting to have an intimate backyard wedding here with their closest family and friends. Alysha traveled to NYC with her Mama to find the dress of her dreams and it wasn’t ready for their 2020 backyard nuptials; so I had the honor of shooting an official first look and bride and groom portraits for these two lovebirds last night, nearly a year after they exchanged vows. I love that Alysha and Jacob moved forward with their wedding dispute all of the changes that had to be made; and I also love that they placed value in having some beautiful portraits taken of them in their originally planned wedding day attire.

Married in the fall right before the pandemic, and coming out the other side with a sweet baby boy on the way! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; one of the most rewarding parts of this job is seeing people through the beautiful milestone chapters in their lives. Last night was one of those moments where I was reminded at how lucky I am to witness so much love happening around me, and people ask ME to document it for them! The highest honor. Thank you for continuing to bring me along to tell your story. ***irphotographer

These two flew me out to Colorado for maternity pics a couple weeks ago, and this week they flew out to Seattle to celebrate their four year wedding anniversary with maternity/anniversary photos at the venue they were married at! I hope I’ll get to take this same photo with a chubby little sweet baby face squeezed between theirs sometime soon. 🥰🥰🥰 Officially taking guesses on what color eyes their little baby will have!

Sometimes full sun isn’t all bad for photos. When we left for Estes, the cloud was full of clouds... but as we went over the ridge and down around the bend into Estes, the clouds disappeared and all we saw was blue skies. We embraced the sunshine and let it highlight the right things for Michael and Jessica’s maternity photos: those SMILES. This baby is already so loved!!!!

I can’t get enough of these smiles from this family session that was a surprise Mother’s Day Gift! Portrait sessions always make great gifts especially for parents or grandparents who are usually the ones BEHIND the camera. Your babies will want photos of you and them TOGETHER. Your children don’t care about the 10 pounds you want to lose before photos... or the grow out or covid-haircut you’re currently donning... trust me: your children won’t care one bit. Don’t wait. Your babies will cherish photos of you and them together at EVERY stage of life; all they’ll see in the photos is someone who loved them and THAT’S what matters. Get in front of the camera with your kiddos and grands!

Loved that Tavia and Travis wore white for the first half of their engagement session. White clothing is a natural reflector, bouncing clean bright light onto whatever is around. Swipe to see the cute Bride and Groom hats they got to celebrate their Disney World proposal!!!

Time for another round from //THE COLORADO SESSIONS// First up today we have these cute kiddos and their family home front porch! I love front porch sessions for SO many reasons: it’s sweet to capture your family home 🏡 in photos (especially to have for when you’re older!), it’s the perfect excuse to dress up your front porch, kids are more comfortable having their photo taken in a familiar space, and, since we’re on the waning end of a global pandemic, it helps show the chapter of our lives when we were all forced to slow down and spend more time at home. Front porch sessions will forever be in style.

I have so many to share from this session, but I will start with the very last frame: Oreos on the porch. Treats are a great time to get some super cute candid shots, and I can’t think of a better treat to share than an Oreo! Two cookies for the price of one. 😉

I’m home and ready to spam you with sneaks from my time in Colorado! I had such a great time I think I am going to make this a semi-regular thing. Out here in Colorado with close friends (who also happen to be clients and an ) documenting another milestone chapter in their lives: they’re expecting a baby this July! Mike and Jess took me on a tour of all the special sentimental spots around Estes Park and it could not have been a more perfect day! (That white building in the background is the Stanley Hotel where Stephen King wrote The Shining!) can’t wait to share more from this session and the other sessions I’ve had while visiting CO over this next week!

One last sneak from my time with Stef and Brendan and their cutie pie pup Harley earlier this week... We ended our time together in the alley alongside and, while not so pretty to the naked eye, it was delivering all the pretty golden light and leading lines for my photographer heart. 😍 Love these two (...3 including Harley!) and can’t wait to witness the next chapter of their love story.

Hi! I’m Eva!

I’m the photographer for couples that love to have a good time, dance barefoot, and sneak away for a private couples' champagne toast while the reception is raging! Not planning a big wedding? I love the intimacy of an elopement or small backyard affair.

I'm based in the Pacific Northwest but available for worldwide travel!

My corner of the internet can be found at www.evariebphoto.com or on Facebook at Eva Rieb Photography. *OR* You can email me personally at [email protected]! Happy wedding planning!

About Eva: I am a wife, mama to two sweet munchkins, and friend to many. And I love a good bottle of red wine. :) If you were a fly on the wall on a weekday night you’d likely see me having DMB dance parties in my living room with my five year old son and two year old daughter, all while nursing a glass of wine and cooking a semi-gourmet dinner. If I am not shooting a wedding or portraits on the weekend - you'd probably see my family and I juggling t-ball and co-ed softball game schedules, going on fishing/hiking/camping adventures, exploring local farmers markets, organizing neighborhood block parties, hosting backyard Dave Matthews Band DVD concerts, and sampling lots of whiskey, beer and wine. With an emphasis on wine. ;)
