Can I let you in on a little secret? I am unbelievably clumsy. My old co-workers lovingly used to call me Emily Kaytastrophe. There are days when my clumsy is worse than others, but overall the clumsy keeps in check when I am working these days. However, wedding cakes terrify me. To all my baker buddies, you are rockstars for being brave enough to move a heavy cake across a room. I have made it a rule in my business to not move cakes. I do not want to be responsible for accidentally dropping and ruining this joyous element to the celebration. Well at my nieces wedding I broke that rule, and moved the cake. It almost made it to the table unscathed, but as I was sliding it onto the table my thumb went straight into the bottom of the cake. No, it couldn't have been the back of the cake, but directly in front for all to see. So like any good planner, I quickly found some flowers to hide the hole I just created in cake, and immediately reinstated my policy to never pick up a cake again. :)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Planner + Florals:

The one and only Chef Cordelia. I have loved how our friendship has developed over the years. It all began at a networking event, and eventually developed into a deeper more beautiful friendship than I could have ever imagined. She is not only CRAZY talented with ALL the foods, but she is a wonderful caring human. I am blessed to be able to celebrate so many amazing couples with her and the team, and I love that in our personal lives we both get each other and what it's like to be mothers of two boys that keep us on our toes daily. She is an inspiration in her ambition and drive for her family and her career. I can only hope that one day when I grow up, that I will be able to make a fried egg as yummy as she whips up in seconds. ;)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Supper Club is one of my favorite days of the month. Chef Cordelia has created a wonderful opportunity for their guests to not only taste their AMAZING cuisine, but also to experience what it is like to be a guest at their reception. Many couples get caught in the whirlwind of the day, and this provides them with a chance to take some of the experience in without the flurry and wonderful distraction of being surrounded by their loved ones. I had the pleasure of bringing my husband to a Supper Club on our 10 year anniversary, and it was one of my favorite date nights with him. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Each month Chef Cordelia invites some amazing vendors to sponsor the evening and showcase their talents. This month I had the pleasure of bringing the team together, and am so pleased with who joined us for the evening. It was truly magical how all of it came together. Thank you team for being the rockstars that you are!

Sometimes great minds think alike. Without consulting with one another, Chef Tiffany at Chef Cordelia and Nika at Sugar Studios came up with a delicious cocktail and dessert pairing. I love it when magic happens, and I am a sucker for a good food + beverage pairing.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​What we have here is a Pomegranate Margarita and Pomegranate Pavlovas. 'Tis the season for pomegranates I suppose.

This deliciously yummy cake from Sugar Studio is probably the cutest fall cake I have seen in a while. I thought the touches of fruit were perfect. I even asked Nika, how did you get this fig to be so on point. I love a good fig and it was calling to me. However, what beckoned my sweet tooth even more was the perfectly prepared Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, and the Chocolate Cake with Hazelnut Buttercream layer was so right too. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Venue:
