This past week was full of Friendsgiving dinners and actual thanksgiving dinners and catching up with old friends and man I have a lot of good people in my life.

In other news, my new kitchen is getting installed today and I feel like a kid at Christmas time☺️

I bought a house the end of July and have been doing renovations and it was super fun and empowering until it wasn’t. In my mind, renovations would surely have been done by now, but the place is definitely still rocking the construction grunge aesthetic, and we haven’t even ripped out the kitchen yet. (Camp stove cooking coming up.🤌🏻) If I had to pick a Taylor Swift lyric to describe my current state, it would be “how did I go from growing up to breaking down” but I’m fine or I will be and at least I always have fresh flowers in the house because you have to have at least one corner that’s beautiful.

When I was little and I’d wake up to a frost, I’d be so excited because it looked like snow. (Big snow fan over here.) These days I’m a little less excited about that flower killing frost, but even so, I love waking up to a good chill in the air.

I used to have a real attitude about calla lilies but those black lilies have really come in clutch for all the variations of black and white I’ve had this year and I’m officially a fan now.

5 star vendor team and 5 star couple right here. Honestly had the nicest chat with the caterers while I was waiting to move some flowers between the ceremony and reception and if I get tired of flowers, they said I can come work for them. Always nice to keep your options open, ya know?

Hi it’s me🙋🏻‍♀️ running around with boxes of foraged greens and my trusty toolbox as per usual.

Unsolicited details about me are that I drink way more coffee than I should and not nearly enough water, I love a good book club, and phone consultations for this business have finally helped me overcome my phobia of calling people. Living all my travel florist dreams with this Virginia wedding. I packed up my little hammock and little camp stove with all the flowers and camped by the Potomac post wedding. (It was really only a couple hours away but camping really rounded out the experience for me☺️)

This day.🥲 Deanna is one of my many wonderful cousins and even though she’s a couple years younger, I don’t remember a time when she wasn’t there. Admittedly, her older sister Becca and I were not always the most inclusive kids, but I’ve loved how getting older has shrunk the age gap between us. Dean, you have the most sincere heart and so much depth to you, and you and Tim make a top notch couple.

If you’re considering a bigger statement piece at your wedding, my advice will always be to do it! Little details are important too, but when most of us have finite budgets, one big installation will always go further in transforming a room than a bunch of tiny arrangements.

Also, have the coolest venue in Jersey. Full blown makers’ space during the week and wedding venue on the weekend.

Last night I worked my final shift at where I was moonlighting for the last 4.5 months. One of my favorite parts about being in the wedding industry is having several months out of the year where I can focus on different interests (usually revolving around food) but I hate that so many things in life are mutually exclusive, and in order to say yes to a full wedding season and putting all my energy into my couples, I have to say no to other good things, like cooking Lebanese food alongside a truly exceptional group of coworkers.

Who know what I’ll dabble in next wedding off season, but for now, I’m fully in flower mode.

James and Chelsea initially planned a November wedding full of dried flowers and foraged botanicals but Covid pushed their wedding to early April. We pivoted with the palette slightly to fit the season but wanted to keep that earthy look, and paired with the blossoming trees, I might just like this better than the original plan!

Cheers to this sweet couple!

Almost a whole month since I gained another sister!

In August, my brother called to tell me he had a girlfriend and 7 months later they were married. When you know, you know, or so they say🤷🏻‍♀️

The jury’s still out on whether the transformation of my brother into a starstruck sentimentalist is permanent or not, but regardless, we’re so excited to have Kirsten in our family.

This icy weather feels solidly like winter again, so a throwback to this December wedding feels appropriate.

I love personalized weddings, and Salina and Amjad’s day had so much character from the thrifted bud vase centerpieces to all the funky texture in the flowers to Amjad’s teal velvet suit, and the was the perfect location to bring it all together.

Fully embracing the change of pace for the winter.
