Honestly, I love just sitting down and creating the stuff that goes into the various events we host. Whether it's the fun banners or the reels or just literally working out the concept into a workable experience...that creative muscle is one of my favorites.

Any artists interested in doing a "Live Art Battle" style event?

I'm thinking you show off some art for sale, we have a few rounds of challenges like swapping every 15 minutes, fixing up Goodwill art, and maybe a crowd suggested theme. We have a few DJs doing fun art gallery vibes, we do some sweet cocktails for the guests while they hang out and walk around checking out the Live Art and the Gallery.

Off The Rails and DJ Spark Productions is dedicated to creating a Safe Space for our Friends and PLUR Family. I'm happy to say that I've rarely had to have conversations with people in attendance about these values.

That being said, sometimes we have to let people know "Today you messed up so you're gonna have to leave. Take some time and do some introspection and get your mind and priorities right."

It's never fun, but it's always the right thing to do.

This is a THANK YOU post.

It's hard to believe we've been throwing these train car parties for only FOUR MONTHS! Each month has been a great learning opportunity on every front, from planning the themes to decorating the venue to the booking and organizing of all the musicians and photographers and everything in between.

One thing that sets us apart from many others is that we intentionally limit the amount of people who can come. We could fit 2-3 times as many people in throughout the night, but we choose to keep it limited because we want you to have a fun, safe time with a group of people that you can get to know, dance, and just vibe with.

I love DJing of course, but my favorite moment is when people come up to me (EVERY TIME) and say "This is the best group of people I've ever seen at a party."

I'm SO PROUD that we have been able to not only create the kind of parties we enjoy, but that others are finding value in those same events.

We convert a Chinese Restaurant...in a train car...into a House Party for the evening.

These train car parties are not really about going to see DJs like most nightlife events. We barely talk about the DJs usually. The parties are really about getting our friends together in a super-neat place that's really unlike any other.

That's why we call it a House Party!

You might be saying "Steven that sounds nuts, and amazing." And you'd be right.

I'm real real bad at hitting record on sets, but I managed to do it with this party! If you want an hour of fun, high-energy music I'd be happy to have you enjoy this one. I'm honestly pretty proud of it. It feels like I'm finding my SOUND, a mix of Pop and House that flows from sing-along to floor-stomper, from Beyonce to Gotye and Fisher to Wuki.
