If you’re looking for a more traditional photographer who will tell you exactly where to place your hand or exactly when to smile, I’m probably not the best fit for you. I’m going to give you a lot of creative license to show me what your love is all about. My job is not to tell you how to tell your love story but to capture it. In order to do that, you need to let me be a fly on the wall. You hav

e to be willing to show me what your love looks like behind closed doors and I promise when you do, magic will happen. What I can’t promise is that every image will be perfectly neat, tied up with a little bow. Those are the stiff posed images that are no fun to take. I’m more interested in the messy moments, the loud, the intimate, the silly and even embarrassing. Those are the real moments that tell your story, the ones you’ll be able to look back on and say “that’s what our love looks like!”

My Focus

I bet you’re a bit like me. When I was planning my wedding, some things went off without a hitch and other things left me completely lost. I booked the first photographer that popped up on my Google search not because I felt especially drawn to her, but because I didn’t know any better and it was the path of least resistance. She took all the photos I thought I needed, but none that stir up all the emotions I felt in those moments when I look back at them.

I want to capture those moments for you that weren’t documented for me: the genuine, the messy, the goofy, the perfectly imperfect, the ones you’re there for and the ones you miss. Imagine showing up to your session saying, “We’re super awkward in pictures” then leaving with cheeks that hurt from smiling so big, realizing you didn’t even notice the camera. You won’t be worrying about the way your eyes squint when you laugh or the wind that’s blowing your hair in your face because my focus is on feelings over perfectly posed shots. I strive to create an environment for those natural, candid moments to happen.

Whether your wedding plans are traditional or wildly unconventional, I want to be a part of it. Whether you’re getting married in your hometown church or saying “I Do” on the edge of a cliff in Yosemite, I’ve had the privilege of capturing both and appreciate the unique beauty of each.
