The Sailor Jerry Festival intends to be an Annual Event celebrating the life, interests, and incredible talents of Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins... or Norman Keith Collins, NKC, Old Ironsides, etc. Norman "Sailor Jerry" C

ollins wasn't someone who needed to find ways to pass the time; he was a man of a million fascinations. Many are surprised to learn more about him once they start to research his legacy and we'd like to help more people do so. Not necessarily a saint (he lived in a different time after all) his influence and innovations are undeniable. This festival aims to respectfully honor his life, career, and global influence... right where the legendary man spent so much of his time... Oahu's Chinatown District. Conceived in 2013, it formally launched on June 12th, 2015 and will take place again each year in mid-June. It features live music, local artists, and many of the things associated with tattoo culture... past and present. It was even responsible for re-connecting some members of his family tree. Remember now, these are some of his former stomping grounds. Mahalo for your interest and support. A small handful of 2015 Testimonials:

We are still working on getting things put away from another busy but fun weekend. Want to make a special thanks to all that attended, assisted, or performed at any of the many activities. We had another incredible turnout this year. Thank you so much for the support. Makes it easy to say that despite how run down I’m currently feeling and how absolutely shot my voice happens to be… we will be back for #11 next June! For now, as always we would love to see what you captured while out and about. Feedback is always welcome too.
But wait, there’s more… many of you have undoubtedly passed by the historic Club Hubba Hubba neon sign on Hotel Street. The last remnant of the infamous Chinatown club. Some chatting online led to a new project… Hubba Hubba Live. ()
Still just in its infancy but we are locking down January 18th for the debut event. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more info. The idea is to bring together a lot of the same elements… friends, music, laughs, food, drink, tattoos, and lean into a red light district revival/celebration, so of course… pinups, burlesque… perhaps some go go dancers, maybe some alt culture? Have any suggestions??

Here we go Oahu… The 10th annual main event is here. Got a caravan loaded up and heading to Chinatown to start setting up. You can try but my apologies if i’m tough to reach while I’ve got power but my phone will likely die at some point. We try very hard to help things run super smoothly, but should any mishaps occur… my bad… we’ve been pushing a big ass boulder up to the edge of a cliff and it’s about to take over so strap in and try to enjoy the ride.
