***Open Auditions!***
Join us for a season of new beginnings and wondrous opportunities. All levels of experience are encouraged to audition for our local cast, and training is provided!
We’re looking for local talent to breathe life into our 16th-century village as they learn and execute skills such as Stage Combat, Courtly and Country Dance, Improv, Stage Acting, Renaissance History, and Elizabethan Dialect!
We are primarily casting roles for those who are 18+, but exceptions may be made for younger actors who show maturity and promise along with written parental permission or on-site supervision.
Local cast members receive a daily stipend for performance days to offset the cost of food, transportation, and costumes.
Auditions will comprise of meeting the directors, discussing your talents and interests to determine where you may best fit, a reading (you can either prepare a one-minute monologue or a monologue or scene with a director will be provided to you to read from), and a discussion of expectations for local cast participation. Should you be interested in Stage Combat, a brief movement audition will also be given.
In general, cast members are expected to attend all rehearsal and performance dates, work with directors to construct a period-accurate costume (it’s easier and less expensive than you’d think), and practice their Elizabethan Dialect, and enjoy suggested reading/viewing in their off-time.
Join us this season. The only danger is you will love it so much, that you’ll want to run away with the Renaissance Fair all year!

***Stage Combat Details***
Want to learn how to Swashbuckle like a pirate? Riposte like a courtier? Brawl like a street rat? We can teach you!
Participating in our Stage Combat program comes with additional time commitments. All Stage Combatants MUST be present at the Stage Combat Boot Camp on November 30th and December 1st from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Stage Combatants will also need to make themselves available for additional training/choreography/rehearsal on additional dates such as Sunday Afternoons or Weekday Evenings. Participation in the Stage Combat Boot Camp does not guarantee you a role as a Stage Combatant, but we do our best to make sure all who participate get an opportunity to fight.
***Support Squad***
Don’t want to perform but want to participate behind the scenes? We’re also looking for Stage Managers, Costumers, Prop Builders, and anyone wanting to support our cast. For example, you may not have a trade skill, but we always need people to host the green room, go on supply runs, help manage cast schedules, etc.
***Professional Actors, Read Here!***
Are you a professional actor looking for a paid role? If so, email your headshot, resume, and reel (if you have one) to the casting director for consideration. Qualified actors are expected to have a minimum of two years of professional acting experience, proficiency in Elizabethan Dialect, and possess one or more of the following skills: SAFD Trained Stage Combatant, Dance, Singing, Movement, Shakespearian Theatre, Stage Acting, High-Level Long Form Improv Theatre, or a Musical Instrument. If you meet these requirements, the directors will reach out to you with salary expectations and plan an in-person or online audition. This audition will consist of a dramatic monologue, comedic monologue, improv audition, and acapella song. This is a non-union role. Actors must be available for all performance dates and at minimum all rehearsals in January. Stage Combatants must submit a video of at least one full fight. Rehearsals are unpaid, and we will contract and pay you every two weeks of the run of the fair.
