Harvard Balloon Fest Harvard Balloon Fest is permanently CLOSED. Harvard, Illinois is home to one of the longest running festivals in the State of Illinois.

We are starting a new festival to celebrate the beauty of hot air balloons! This year's inaugural event will take place Labor Day weekend. Activities will take place Friday Night, September 2nd, All Day Saturday, September 3rd, and All Day September 4th. Please note...Ballooning is a WEATHER DEPENDENT activity. Balloon Flight Director has final authority to cancel all flights due to weather. Safet

y is more important than ballooning. Balloon Ascensions will take place before sunset Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. and shortly after sunrise Saturday and Sunday mornings. Other activities are planned for during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
