Testing out the new Pentax 17 half frame camera.
What a fun everyday camera and it’s super easy to use. I think most of these were shot on auto mode. I was able to squeeze out 78 frames per roll!

Hi All! Been a little MIA lately but for good reason. My wife Jumi and I are expecting soon. We are pretty excited and nervous, we just hope we’ll have a smooth and healthy delivery. I am looking forward to documenting our adventures as a family of three! I’ve been looking through our family albums recently. Here are a few photos of us when we were little. After 12 years together, Paul proposed to Clarissa last september on their anniversary and later again on holiday while swimming in the sea in Malta. She said yes both times.

They moved to London over five years ago from New Zealand. With the borders back home still closed they felt there was a good chance that they wouldn’t be able to make it back in the next year to wed in front of their friends and family. They wanted to do something fun and memorable just for the two of them, so an elopement felt right. Neither had ever been to New York, and it felt like the perfect place to do it!

Paul’s friend David officiated while his wife Jess was the witness. Having their close friends there made their day even more special. They decided not to tell anyone about the elopement beforehand, and they may just keep it that way!

I believe a wedding is a successful one if I can look back on it and feel that, though I am providing a service, I feel like a member of the family, just for one day. I am here to celebrate this special occasion with you and it’s so much fun for me. That level of intimacy and trust is what I strive for with every couple I photograph.

When you get the chance to shoot your friend's wedding, that familiarity and closeness are already there, and you anticipate the day from two perspectives. As a wedding photographer, you appreciate another opportunity to document one of the most joyous occasions of a person's life. As a friend, you get to share the joy of seeing your friend enter this exciting new chapter of their lives.

Faith and Ken's wedding was a testament to their love of bringing people together. I wasn't the only vendor to be a friend of the couple. The wedding planner, ceremony musician, officiant, MC, DJ and band were all friends. Even the impressive 6-tier cake was baked by a friend's aunt.

Add to that the wedding program/custom zine drawn by the bride herself, and the wedding was such a special evening, one that I will never forget.
