Thanks to Fred Harvey at Tutor Doctor, Kim Fannin at The Hays Free Press and Jack Grimes at Sidepeace Packin Co for being on our team! Let's do it again next year!

Hey y'all! Lots of exciting things are happening at Max Force that we want to share. We will be a sponsor of the Sporting Classic for the Kyle Chamber of Commerce in May. Hope to see you there!
I've also been working on our website so customers can see what we have available to put together custom packages. There's still some work to do but we are now offering three standard packages and have 30 custom options to build your own. Check it out! Maxforcetx.com
The last and I think most exciting thing we want to share is an upcoming partnership with a couple of nearby outdoor venues to provide on-site clay pigeon shooting! With any luck we'll be able to offer mobile clay pigeon shooting as a regular service. Stay tuned!

Hey y'all, a friend sent me this link/video and I wanted to share some thoughts on it because there's lessons here to be learned about introducing new shooters to fi****ms.
First, the good things I like about this video. They started off great. A G***k 9mm is a fantastic introductory gun for an adult because it's simple and kind of an 'in the middle' gun in most respects. Not too loud, not too heavy, not too much recoil. Their attitudes were great. Nervous-but-enthusiastic is an ideal attitude for a first time shooter because that's a shooter who is willing to learn and try but also respects the danger of improperly using their gun. Muzzle awareness was great throughout. I liked that they told the couple little fun facts about each gun they shot and showed the size of different rounds for comparison.
There were some things that were ok but I might have done differently if possible. It's a very nitpicky thing but I typically won't start shooters with a silhouette target; I have seen shooters who are uncomfortable firing at the shape of a human being. I also prefer outdoor ranges and i think most first time shooters would too; they tend to not feel as loud or crowded which is important for safety and comfort. You see both Canadians flinching at gunshots from other people during the video because even with hearing protection, everything is so loud.
There is one thing about this video that I felt was very bad and which is the reason why both Canadians ended the video saying they were terrified of guns and had fun but would never do that again, and that's because they jumped straight from a 9mm to a .50 AE Desert Eagle. A first time shooter can absolutely shoot a Desert Eagle just like a first time driver can drive a monster truck, and the approach should be the same. Start with something mundane, like a 9mm G***k or a Camry. Move up to something a little larger, like a .45 caliber pistol or a big 4WD truck because for some people that's plenty, THEN if the enthusiasm is still there, break out the .50 caliber pistol or the monster truck. If you watch the video you may notice the flinches and discomfort started after shooting the Desert Eagle which is a real shame because the DE is a really fun and surprisingly manageable pistol, it's just so loud and intimidating that this wasn't the right way to go about it.
If you're looking for a lesson with something a teensy bit smaller than a .50 caliber pistol or you DO want to shoot big weird obnoxious guns for the 'gram, send us a message. We know when and how to accommodate both. See you at the range!

Success! Kelli Rush hasn't shot a rifle or shotgun in 10 years ever since she shot the family 'home defense' shotgun which was way too much gun for her. I suggested she try out our very easy-shooting Rossi 92 instead. I think she liked it!

Finally put some rounds downrange today with my good friend Allen! We met at the range years ago but haven't shot together since the 'rona. Great shooting with you buddy!

At the range today and came across this neat little gun. This is almost the exact gun we have available (16" Heritage Arms "Rough Rider") but with a rifle stock. Shooting it was almost TOO easy!

The Schofield revolver was an American oddball that was in some ways both ahead of and behind its time. Here's a slow-mo of the ejection process which, practicality aside, is just plain fun. Watch for this one to be in a bunch of upcoming videos! The Schofield is also a standard part of our Cowboy package.

My brother-in-law trying out our new side by side 12 gauge. He's smiling, I promise!
Soon this neat old shotgun will be a part of our Shotgun and Cowboy packages.

Melissa with our SR-22. I frequently use this pistol for lessons because it is light, small, low recoil, and not too loud. It is an excellent gun to learn good habits.
