Rates: The rates are set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a wedding ceremony.
$100 for a basic ceremony in Bridgewater
$150 for a ba
sic ceremony in any other town or city in the Commonwealth
Additional charges for customization of the ceremony, rehearsal, and travel outside of 20 miles of Bridgewater.
- Customization rates vary from $100 - $200+ depending on the ceremony.
- Customization includes, but is not limited to, the writing of the ceremony
itself, pre-wedding consultation with the couple, particular attire
requests, and other special requests.
- Rehearsal rate is $75.
- Travel fee varies depending on the location and distance traveled and is
applicable for both rehearsal and wedding. FAQ
Q: Should I invite the Justice to the wedding reception and/or rehearsal dinner? A: While extending the offer is generous, neither is required nor expected. Q: When do I give the marriage license to the Justice? A: This is typically done the night of the rehearsal. If there is no rehearsal, the license should be given to the Justice before the ceremony begins. Q: Am I expected to tip the Justice?
