You only have ONE chance to make it right! As a full-time dedicated professional, providing entertainment for your Wedding or special event is not just a “weekend job” for me. It’s a lifestyle and something I am passionate about. I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to turn a hobby into a full-tim

e career and the business has come full circle for me. As a young teen and an aspiring DJ, I built and operated one of Philadelphia’s largest DJ companies which is still going strong today, now under the direction of two of my brothers. I now reside at the South Jersey Shore and instead of managing a large company, I returned to my roots, personally working closely with each client, doing what I love…planning and performing at special events and creating lasting memories for my clients! When I book a DJ engagement, I am committing myself to personally help plan your itinerary and soundtrack and act as YOUR DJ and master of ceremonies. You’re booking me, unless other arrangements are made in writing, and I will be the one planning and working side by side with you on your special day!. In my spare time, I love spending time with my young twin sons, Kenny & Evan. I’m also active in many local charities, animal rescue, serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, and President of the Brigantine Chamber of Commerce. Weeknights, you’ll hear me on the radio on Wibbage FM 94.3 as the full time on-air host of Totally 80s. Music is my life and my base of knowledge is diverse, ranging from the Great American Songbook and standards of the past to today’s latest hits. I’m passionate about what I do and would love to work together and make your event the best it can possibly be! Together, we’ll create the perfect soundtrack and vibe for your perfect day! Back again for part two of a two-night engagement. Last night at the beautiful Madison Resorts, Wildwood Crest, and tonight at their magnificent Montreal Beach Resort, overlooking the Ocean in historic Cape May.

When a Paramount executive brings a large group in from the Bronx for a charity related reunion weekend, I was honored to be referred to them to plan two very specific themed nights to entertain their guests. Last night was a Doo W*p - Rock and Roll theme and tonight it’s pure Disco… Lou Rawls, Blue Magic, the Spinners, Main Ingredient and lots of hustle music you just don’t hear these days.

And if you love the Classic Disco and club music of the 70s to 90s, join us every Tuesday night at 5, starting 6/17 as well be hosting our back in the day Sunset Dance Party on the upper deck at Harry’s Ocean Bar and Grille at The Montreal. We’ll be dancing at Sunset, overlooking the Ocean every Tuesday night through labor day and we’ll be live on the air on Wibbage FM 94.3.

How diverse or how passionate is your DJ? I recently had a request for Keely Smith for a 90th birthday and while I had several of her jazz/vocal standards, I downloaded the remainder of her Ultimate Hits compilation just to have more than needed just in case. Doing this often leads to a future request or selection that only a passionate DJ would have.

Simultaneously to preparing for a 90th Birthday, I saw a prom post on the DJ boards that sparked ideas for some popular hip hop/rap for the teenage audience.

Passion is so important in this industry. Anyone can pull out an iTunes or Spotify playlist and hit play, but to be a student of the music and how it all fits together seamlessly is one of the differences when a great DJ truly hits the heart of his or her audience. Always looking at trends and always preparing, even when it’s just to bolster the main library…

ABOUT ME You only get ONE chance to get it right! Hi, I’m Ken Schaffer and I’d love to be the DJ and Emcee for your upcoming wedding or special event. DJing is not just a “weekend job” for me, it’s a lifestyle and one that I’ve lived and perfected for decades. The business has come full circle for me. As a young teen and an aspiring DJ, I was a pioneer in the industry and built one of Philadelphia’s largest DJ companies which is still going strong today under the direction of two of my brothers. My love of the water led me to living at the South Jersey Shore and instead of managing dozens of DJs on the weekends, I now work very closely with one client at a time and I’m back to doing what I love…performing at special events and creating lasting memories for my clients! When I book a DJ engagement, I am committing myself to personally help plan your itinerary and soundtrack and act as YOUR DJ and master of ceremonies. You’re booking me, unless other arrangements are made in writing, and I will be the one planning and working side by side with you on your special day!. In my spare time I’m very involved in animal rescue and assisting many local charitable causes. Weeknights, you’ll hear me on the radio on Wibbage FM 94.3 as the full time on-air host playing the Superhits of the 60s, 70s and 80s, but don’t let that fool you as my music knowledge is very diverse, ranging from the Great American Songbook and standards of the past to today’s latest hits and playlists, downloaded and studied monthly as they are released through professional industry services. I’m passionate about what I do and would love to work with you to make your event the best that it possibly can be! Together, we’ll create the perfect soundtrack for your perfect day!
