When you're deciding on place settings, you have a few options:
- ceramic, or china plates, water glasses + flatware
- nice-looking plastic plates + utensils
- wood bamboo plates + utensils
One of our favorite options are these eco-friendly bamboo plates. They are affordable, environmentally safe, and super cute!
They look lovely on our farmhouse tables or linens, such as our navy blue tablecloths. Pair them with our gold flatware, drinking glasses and cloth napkins. Simply stunning!

When deciding on flowers for your wedding, pretty please don't let silks discourage you.
When done correctly, silk flowers can look absolutely STUNNING! From bouquets to centerpieces, silk flowers can be very cost-effective and you can include more flowers into your decor.
Another reason why we love them? They are also eco-friendly and allows you to save the fresh flowers for the bees! Did you know my name Melissa means "honey bee"? 🐝

PSA: Backyard weddings are not cheap, friends!
That's right! You might have a beautiful property to get married on, but planning a backyard wedding might not be the best option for you if you want to keep costs down.
There is SO much work that goes into planning an outdoor wedding and believe us when we say things add up quickly!
Here is a quick estimate of hosting a backyard wedding for a guest count of 100:
Wedding Arch: $100-$300
Ceremony Seating: $500-$700
Tent: $1000 - $2500
Lighting: $300 - $500
Reception Seating: $500 - $700
Tables + Linens: $350 - $500
Dance Floor: $300 - $700
Place Settings: $500 - $800
Rentals + Decor: $750 - $2000
DJ: $500 - $1200
Food + Drink: $3000 - $7000
Dinner + Bartending Services: $200 - $750
Portable Bathrooms: $350 - $1500
There is also a lot of time that goes into setting up a backyard wedding, including setting up your floor plan, steaming linens, laying centerpieces, and decorating both your ceremony and reception space. We estimate that it takes about 12-15 hours to set up from start to finish.
Backyard weddings are absolutely beautiful and if planned correctly, they can be the most fun. Our best piece of advice? HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!

We all know we can’t control the weather. But what we CAN do is rearrange, move items, wipe down, and reset! On Jenny and Jonathan’s wedding day, it called for rain right before their ceremony. It rained for a bit, but then the sky turned blue and the rain cleared up. We quickly reset the arch and decor, and the amazing staff wiped down all of the chairs. We finished just in time for the ceremony to begin. We’re so happy the sun came out for our happy couple and what a beautiful day it turned out to be! When planning your wedding, it’s important to have a rain plan, but plan for the best weather possible.
