I had taken photos of @b.miyo_art in a vintage Mamo Howell at the beginning of 2023, and I had a chance to submit and have it included in the HoMA's "Fashioning Aloha" Exhibit, which highlighted and told the story of Aloha Wear throughout history, ranging from holokū, mu'umu'u, aloha shirts, and more! Here's a small snippet of my journey to the museum on O'ahu and what the gallery is like 🎨

A huge thanks to The @pokemon Company International for being given #freeaccess to attend Pokémon World Championships at Honolulu 2024 - the opening ceremony was in full swing, and it was really exciting to see! From hula performances on mo'olelo with Pele and Hi'iaka, to the incredible @kailuamoonmusic performing one of their newest songs for the official Worlds sountrack, to seeing Tsunekazu Ishihara himself and @annaprosser doing an amazing job hosting, it was one of my favorite events to get to see live in person 🎊 if anyone also knows any of the members or the halau that performed at the Pokémon Center/Opening Ceremony, let me know as I'd love to make sure they also get the credit for performing at Worlds ✨️

Thanks to The @pokemon Company International that I was given #freeaccess to attend Pokémon World Championships at Honolulu 2024 - the Hilton Hawaiian Village hosted the Trainer Town, where guests from near and far could enjoy activities ranging from Pokémon Meet 'n Greets/Photo Ops, the @shadowlesspodcast Live featuring @strawburry17 & @bearwalkerofficial , a Stamp Rally with a cool prize for completing, Bowling/Bean Bag Toss and other games, the Play Lab, cool displays like the Mega Bloks x Pokémon displays and a HUGE Charizard statue, and a cool drone show to cap off the night! There's still more happening over the weekend, but let me know what you think looks cool or if you've gone and visited the town for yourself! Also shout out to @eeveelution_cosplay @serawrtonin @amehime_cosplay @takacosplay who are featured in the adventures around trainer town 📸

I stopped by the newest Paris Baguette location when they opened in Honolulu, and I was super impressed to see the amount of selection on baked goods and pastries you can order 🍞

From an assortment of cakes, a tunnel of croissants, a colorful assortment of macarons, and even coffee/tea, there was no shortage of what would make for a superb tea and snack time ☕️🎂

I got to try their rainbow cake slice, strawberry short cake, and chai, and it hit that perfect note of sweetness to satisfy me that evening (plus it was a really cute cake to partake 🍰 what would you want to order if you got to visit the bakery/café? 🤔

The newest food truck on the Maui food scene is run by @tabayatkins and mother Sahel, and they bring not only mindful vegan food, but also their Persian food culture/cuisine 🇮🇷

I tried a selection of items they had - their Steakhouse Burger with Blue Cheese Crumbles was super flavorful and filling, and tasted like any other burger worth its weight 🍔

Other things I got to try/friends got to try were their Vegan Loco Moco (made specifically for their time in Hawai'i), their choco-vanilla soft serve, their Persian Kabob Wrap (loved the sauce in this one), and their Sharbat Albaloo (a Persian cherry drink you can find at special occasions) , all of which I'd recommend! You can find them daily at the OGG Truck Pod across of Costco in Kahului daily from 11am - 8pm, but be sure to check their instagram for any updates! 🍽

On my way to pick up some donuts, I actually ran into Okayama Kobo for the first time! I remember hearing positive things about the bakery/cafe, and it was well worth the visit! 🍞

From hot dog paninis, butter rolls, croissants, and lots of tea options, it's a super comfy bakery where you can see everyone hard at work making all the various breads you see on display 🥖🌭

I got the matcha sunrise and butter roll for myself, while my friend I went alongside got the Kobokuma! It was really soft and tasty! And I was surprised to see that the roll/croissant I got had cheese in it! If you're looking for a nice play to enjoy a morning/lunch time snack with friends, you should definirely make your way to Okayama Kobo in town! 🍵

Me and @kawaiisukixo had a chance to try their POG Matcha and Guava Matcha variations, and they were super fun to shake and just as fun to drink - the combinations really pair well, and it was my first time seeing guava with matcha in my travels!

I'm always on the go when visiting O'ahu for work, and I'd usually be passing by the $5 Bento Box truck on my way to Kaka'ako, and after getting some recommendations to try, I'd definitely say they're worth checking out - especially if you're like me and working on a traveling budget rather than an all-expenses buffet kind of deal 👟

From both $5 (and $6) Bento Boxes to Dole Whip and Smoothies, they have plenty of options to keep you satisfied (and the portion was relatively big and I was full for quite some time) - I had the Hamburger Steak and Gravy that day, but I may potentially want to try one of the $6 Fish Bentos or the Dole Whip next time I visit! They have a couple locations around the island that you can find on their instagram, but the one I went to that day was near the wharf at Kaka'ako in town 🍽
