g, gardening, accessorizing, cooking, jewelry—all of it. My mom was the best example of hospitality I have ever encountered. My dad is the most sensitive and caring person I know. Barbara, my sister is a very talented interior designer. My brother even welds up rustic/western art. How can this not be successful—it’s in my jeans! (And they’re a little tight.)
‘Why do it if you can’t have fun?!!’ This has always been my mantra, whether its work or play, serious or casual, it’s possible to experience life with a sense of humor. We had a wedding this past summer. Our first daughter of three (blessing of being married to a football coach—daughters, that is). This pushed me over the edge creatively and collectingly (yes, that is my word). The almost one year of their engagement, I spent many weekends, lunch hours and evenings shopping sales, thrift stores, estate sales, auctions and shopping some more. This was my doing, as I was reminded the day before her wedding when she refused to wash the beautiful vintage china plates I had gathered for the event. ‘I didn’t ask for any china, so I’m not washing any stinkin’ china.’ Ouch! The truth hurts!! (FYI Wedding goers, thankfully, this is when her two sisters took pity on me and washed the china.) Before this becomes a blog, I’ll summarize. I’ve fallen in love with Vintage Modern. Vintage with a twist, whether that’s something completely new or repurposed. I’ve always loved silver. Other items will be anything else I like. With my taste and ‘I-can-do-anything,’ attitude I am going to offer lots for sale. A little bit of everything, for everybody. I can do that. I cannot part with everything I’ve bought and created (surprise, surprise). So I’d like to offer my items for rent too. 100% Service right here.
