Northumberland New Ventures Band We are for adults that have never played an instrument before as well as a few who played years ago in school. We enjoy learning in a fun group setting.

In a "normal" non-Covid year, Northumberland New Ventures has 3 main bands that vary in experience. Our "Intro Band" is for beginners with no musical experience. They rehearse on Thursdays from 6pm -7pm. Our "Mezzo Band" is for those with some experience and they rehearse on Thursdays from 7pm - 9pm. Our "Avanti Band" is for experienced players. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00. Our band program has grown to over 95 members and we always welcome new members.

Our Story

Now going into our 5th year, the Northumberland New Ventures Band now has 5 different bands that vary in experience. Our "Intro Band" is for beginners with no musical experience. It rehearses on Wednesdays from 6pm -7pm. Our "Mezzo Band" is for those with some experience and they rehearse on Thursdays from 7pm - 9pm. Our "Avanti Band" is for experienced players. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:15-9:15. Our “Swing Band” meets on Thursdays 6pm-7pm while our Piccola Band (Small Ensemble) rehearses as required on Thursday mornings. Our total membership has grown to over 90 members and we always welcome new members.
