Our thoughts and prayers go out to all in North Texas who were hurt, worse, or lost anything in the tornados last night May 25,2024!
We were driving home from a show in Little Elm, Texas on I-35 when we received the tornado warning. We exited right before the Valley View, TX. exit and sheltered in a gas station with about 45-50 other people. WE were fortunate! The Shell Station at the next exit was destroyed. An officer from Valley View came by to check on the group, but Jack and I were "keeping the kids entertained" in the station's shower area. We were safe, just up the interstate was a different story.
When we left, the I-35 was of course, blocked. We tried to connect to a secondary route only to find the trains were blocking the roads due to debris on the tracks. Backtracking again to a side road to find a large tree across it. This time we drove the pickup through the ditch around the fallen tree.
Long story, it took 8 hours to get home to Shawnee, OK.

Again, please pray, seek out, and help those in need! We have all been there Oklahoma!
