Confession — I used to think winter weddings weren’t really my “thing”. I thought the palettes and venues were too dark for Block Party’s bright and bold aesthetic. Over the last 5 years I’m happy to say I’ve been proven wrong! We’ve produced at least one winter wedding a year since opening and they have consistently been my favorite designs. I love the challenge they provide and all the cozy, romantic, warmth we get to incorporate. Swipe for some of my favorite late-fall/winter wedding moments.

When designing for an event in an already overwhelmingly beautiful space, it’s a fine line between complimenting and competing. and I chose a mix of lux blue velvet and warm mosaic patterned linens that reminded us of the venue’s aging plaster walls.

We’ve had our eye on these black and white chargers for a while now, we were just waiting for the perfect client to come along. Jessie & Freddie gave us full reign with their wedding design so we pulled out all the stops on their head table.

We paired the bold chargers with custom place cards and menus from . Fall blooms and honey-colored pillar candles from gave the table a warm, romantic glow.

The Gallery of Dutch still life paintings at the Cincinnati Art Museum served as the inspiration for Megan & Brian’s late-fall wedding. We knew we had to collaborate with Icon Cake and Sugar Flowers LLC to bring this vision to life. They perfectly recreated Eve Floral Co.'s flowers in sugar and incorporated handmade fruit that we carried throughout the tablescapes.

Brandy and William served tacos and fresh margs at their Groesbeck Estate wedding, so naturally they had to stay on theme with the favors. The groom used his culinary chops to make jars of homemade salsa for every guest as a thank you for attending .

Assistant Wedding Coordinators work directly with a Lead Planner on the day of an event. This position requires a good balance of right and left brain thinking. Must be a self-starter, able to manage multiple tasks at once, patient with clients, and excellent time management skills.

No wedding experience necessary, however prior experience working in a customer service related field is required. A background in the arts or design and styling is also helpful. Must be available to work a fixed weekend schedule. This is a part-time contracted position averaging 30 hours per month.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Assisting with and overseeing the correct set-up of the ceremony and reception site(s)
-Managing the placement of all decor and design related items; candles, place cards, menus, ceremony programs, signage, etc.
-Assisting VIP’s throughout the course of the event
-Being available to wedding guests to answer questions and assist them as needed
-Directing guests to appropriate areas as needed throughout the evening (i.e. restroom, exits, parking, bar, etc.)
-Assisting vendors with their set-up by being close at hand to answer questions with regards to product placement
-Being a resource to the Bride & Groom with regards to what’s happening next in the schedule
-Overseeing and assisting with set up and tear down of wedding decor items
-Maintaining the schedule for all special events throughout the reception

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

-High-school diploma, some college preferred
-Experience in customer service, design, event planning or related industry
-Able to lift 40 lbs.
-The physical ability to stand for up to 12 hours. Sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist will also be required.

Oh man, we can’t tell you how nice it is to be posting photos from real, in-person events again! Shannon & Michael’s intimate, rooftop wedding was the perfect way to kick off a very busy season.

We created one, long king’s table for all 30 guests. Every detail was intentional and perfect. Mazel tov you two!

Happy Anniversary to , Stephanie and LeStavion! The tied the knot one year ago today, on the most gorgeous and unseasonably warm February day.

It was our last wedding before…all of this *motions around frantically* happened. Any other vendors feeling especially nostalgic about their last pre-pandemic event? I know I would’ve hugged everyone a little longer and drank a few more margaritas that day.
