Fun Fact of today: In ancient Rome, guests at banquets would often be greeted by floral arrangements made of not only fresh flowers but also colorful fruits and even vegetables! These elaborate displays were meant to showcase abundance and prosperity, with everything from pomegranates to grapes and herbs woven in alongside roses and laurel. Some of these decorations would even hang from the ceiling or float in water, filling the air with a lush aroma. Today, floral design often draws inspiration from these ancient techniques to add a touch of nature and color to modern events.
