One of my most favorite cakes I’ve made TO DATE.

Y’all know cakes are my Achilles heel. I have so much anxiety when I’m asked to do a cake, simply because I want it to be perfect for my client. For this cake, I was given the instructions to make it blue and it had to have a turtle. The rest was up to me. I LOVE how it turned out, and I think the recipient did as well. Or, more importantly, her kiddos who wanted it for HER birthday. How cute is that?!??

I can’t believe I forgot to post these! The CUTEST little barnyard birthday cupcakes! The cow was specifically requested be wide it’s the birthday girls favorite - today :) All buttercream, all edible, and no hard parts for little mouths to chew on.

Lego birthdays are so fun! I think this is the fifth year I’ve been a part of celebrating this little guy, and his mom always comes up with the best themes. I had never tried Lego cake pops and honestly had a LOT of anxiety about how to do them the way I wanted to do them. There was definitely some trial and error but it all worked out. Mom and kiddo approved.

30th birthdays are so fun. I love this trend of the old-fashioned cakes with a modern twist. This was a vanilla bean sponge cake with a white chocolate buttercream. I’m obsessed with combining a fudge-like icing with my American buttercream. It cuts the sweetness and gives the buttercream such a smooth finish! Chef’s kiss 👩‍🍳💋

Two simple words, but they carry so much weight. If you know me IRL, you know how strongly I believe in the power of words. I don't know of many more phrases that are as powerful than this one - THANK YOU. Thank you to my amazing vendors for showing up (if they could) and making a slower market day SO . MUCH. FUN. Thank you to my amazing kitchen partner, Lauren for taking care of MY business along with hers while I was out managing. Thank you to Rasha of and Judy of .wa for being my co-judges on our first ever baking competition. I had such an amazing time trying each recipe and discussing the components with both of you - the energy going back and forth was exhilitating!!! Thank you to for capturing the spirit of the event - I can't wait to see your shots! Thank you to the amazing staff at the city, Elena and Angela, for all of their help. Thank you to the spectacular contestants in the Great Eastside Baking competition - seeing you all work SO hard and be SO excited about your submissions was a highlight of the day. I truly enjoyed meeting each one of you and tasting your desserts. Looking forward to seeing the winners defend their titles next year! Thank you to my amazing husband for his support and help, and finally - thank you to all of you for sharing and supporting this event. I always walk away from this event feeling connected, energized, and proud of this community we are building.

Birthday cookies from one Star Wars fan to another. These decorated cookies came from the heart; as a fellow nerd, I always appreciate when the recipient has a love of something geeky or pop-culture-based. Don’t get me wrong… I love the cute little kids’ themes and pretty florals and stuff, but when the recipient is a fellow nerd like me, the cookies always shine just a little bit brighter.
