Birthday cookies from one Star Wars fan to another. These decorated cookies came from the heart; as a fellow nerd, I always appreciate when the recipient has a love of something geeky or pop-culture-based. Don’t get me wrong… I love the cute little kids’ themes and pretty florals and stuff, but when the recipient is a fellow nerd like me, the cookies always shine just a little bit brighter.

Have.. why have you been holding out on me so long?? If you haven’t … let me introduce you! It’s like a paper towel and a sponge got married and had a baby - a beautiful, reusable, and environmentally-friendly baby! I just found out about them recently, but today I was gifted one printed with a design by my friend Erica, owner and head designer at bgoods13 (link in comments). This yellow matched my kitchen perfectly and added a little sunshine to a what was a really stormy week! Thank you, Erica!!

I am back, my baking babes. It was a wonderful two weeks of research, and now I’m home and ready to get back to work. Next on the event calendar is the Harvest Festival at Juanita Beach, here in Kirkland. I just saw that gwendolyn_the_cow is gonna be back this year… maybe I should do some cow cupcakes in her honor ?!?!

Today begins a two week vacation for me and my family. My husband reminded me earlier that I’ve been planning this trip for 15 years. 😂😂. We have lists of milestones to celebrate, including our 20 year wedding anniversary and both of us turning 50, but this has also turned into a memorial trip. You see, last week, my father passed away. I don’t usually get too personal on this page, but he was one of my biggest supporters of my business, always cheering me on. I will miss sharing my crazy business ideas with him and him going “have you checked with Ryan on that”??? 😂😂😂. We will be celebrating g his life with the entire family in March, but right now, I’m carrying him in my heart as we take this time to reconnect our family. See you in a few weeks, peeps!!

New to our Galentines market fam is a fellow community builder like myself. Liz Russell is using her business, On The Eastside, to fulfill the needs of specific spaces in our community. Her events range from speed friending to professional networking, and I'm SO excited to introduce yall to her and her business.

We are kicking off our vendor spotlights this year with a little bit of info about the businesses and the owners. Yall know I love the "this or that" trend.. so here we go: Our first vendor to be featured is Skybox Skincare Bar based out of Lakewood. Skybox has been in business since 2018. It's an organic, eco-friendly, farm 2 face, and bud 2 body skincare company that caters to the environmentally conscious and curious. And yall - Marika SOLD OUT of her products in about three hours last year, so the demand is HIGH

It’s a hot one today but we are ready!! Come by the farmers market at Juanita Beach Park from 3-7 today. I’m in a different spot this week - right next to the ice cream person (yeah I may have bribed someone for this arrangement)

The answer is simple. I like to throw parties. Not just throw parties.. I like to curate parties. That’s right - I said it. I am a PARTY THROWING SUPERHERO. I thrive on helping to choose a theme and then designing each element to perfectly match; from invites to decor, cupcakes to custom designed edible party favors, I love it all. So I decided to put my super-party-throwing-powers to use for the good of others and call it Sugar Bytes Cupcakes and More. I’m not running your ordinary cupcake shop.. .no siree, Bob. Sugar Bytes is the fusion of pop culture nerdiness and gourmet foodiness; you’re as likely to find me at a comic convention as a farmer’s market. I use fresh,quality ingredients that I’ve vetted and, when possible, locally sourced. My shop is your one-stop
