After a week, switched to a smaller vase. The tighter design adds days to the longevity of these beauties. I used all the same stems, cleaned and stripped any brown leaves. Click on pictures to read captions.

Tulips. It’s tulip season. One of the only flowers that grows after it’s been cut. Tulips can grow up to 2 inches in the vase. You can buy them small, tight, more green, not showing a lot of color, or larger and more colorful. Either has the possibility of lasting 7-10 days with the less mature ones lasting an additional 3-4 days.

Even though tulips are in, we do have some winter left.

💡Remember as with any fresh cut flowers;

🌷 cover your flowers when temperature is below 32 degrees. Blossoms will freeze on contact with freezing air. They will turn brown and to mush, or become translucent. At the grocery store, grab a bag for the top and the bottom of your bunch, or if the floral counter is open ask them to wrap it, at Costco box it up, or order from your 💐 local flower shop 💐

🔮Best procedure for longevity;

🌷 strip the bottom leaves any that would fall below the waterline in your filled up to near top vase.

🌷 give them a fresh cut, and get them in fresh water mixed with floral preservative

🌷 get some, they will be available for a good price over the next couple months. They dance. Tulips open and close, they stand straight up and lean all the way over. They grow. They come in so many colors. Enjoy them for up to two weeks, possibly more.
