🎉 Some fun season notes and recent story lines…

⚾️ For our 20th season, Jays win 20 games for a franchise record of most wins with a current record of 20-6.

⚾️ At the start of the season, the average age of the team was 20.8 years old.

⚾️ For the 2nd straight year, Jays reach the Night League AND Sunday League playoffs.

⚾️ Jays have reached the Sunday League playoffs in 5 of the last 6 seasons, tied for the most in that stretch.

⚾️ Jays win the South Night League section, last time was 2017.

⚾️ Jays win the Southeast Section, last time was 2018 & 2019.

⚾️ Jays are 1 of 2 teams out of 42 HTL teams remaining in BOTH Sunday League and Night League playoff tournaments.

⚾️ This year’s Final Four teams are the same as 2019 (Evansville, Sauk Prairie, Sun Prairie, Verona).

⚾️ On August 25, former Jay Bird Johannes Haakenson will return to the Jays Nest with Verona.

⚾️ On September 1, Jays GM Jon Frey will return to the field where he played youth, HS and Home Talent baseball at Marshall vs Sun Prairie.

💲 Entry fee at all games is $3 per person 16 and older (fee split to both teams).

Lots happening in the Beer Garden today! We're open 11-9, with live music from 1-4 by Turning Point - Classic Rock and 5-8 by Kill'n Time - Classic Rock/Country/Oldies. On top of that, today is the 2nd Annual "Evansville Bar OLMPICS"! That's not a typo, folks. Come cheer on more than 25 teams as they attempt to hold a stein full of beer without spilling a drop. The Olmpics kick off at noon! Cheers!

THURSDAY'S WIN SET JAYS RECORD FOR MOST WINS IN A SEASON WITH 19.

ON SUNDAY, JAYS TRAVEL TO FORT ATKINSON FOR SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AT 1PM.

Syse Leads Evansville Jays Past Arena Aces

Trevor Syse struck out 10 batters as the lefty led Evansville Jays past Arena Aces 1-0 on Thursday at Jays Nest. Trevor Syse allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings while walking three.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Evansville Jays pitchers struck out 15, while Arena Aces sat down nine.

A single by Carson Syse put Evansville Jays on the board in the bottom of the fourth.

Nate Jennings took the loss for Arena Aces. They went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out nine and walking two. Carson Syse collected the save.

Leadoff hitter Bennett Keller led Evansville Jays with two hits in three at bats. Carson Syse led Evansville Jays with one run batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Evansville Jays were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bennett Keller had the most chances in the field with 16.

Trey Schulte and Alex Stetz each collected one hit for Arena Aces.
