What goes into making a wedding day run smoothly? Let me take you through a typical day in the life.

Early Morning: Vendor Coordination
My day kicks off early, often before sunrise. The first order of business is communicating with all the vendors to ensure they arrive on time. Every vendor plays a crucial role, from the florist to the caterer, and it's my job to make sure they know exactly where to be and when.

Mid-Morning: Team Debrief
Once the vendors are on-site, I gather my team for a debrief. We'll review the files and timelines for the day to ensure everyone is on the same page. It's our chance to address any last-minute changes and ensure we're all aligned on the plan.

Late Morning: Bride Check-In
Depending on the need, I may leave the venue or ceremony location to check in on the bride. It's a wonderful opportunity to add a personal touch and offer last-minute assistance.

Early Afternoon: Setup and Guest Arrival
Back at the venue, it's about ensuring every detail is perfect. As guests arrive, I oversee seating arrangements and make sure everyone is where they need to be. This includes lining up the wedding party and keeping everything on schedule.

Mid-Afternoon: Ceremony to Reception Transition
From the ceremony to the cocktail hour and into the reception, I'm with the couple every step of the way. Moving through the different formalities seamlessly, ensuring that everything transitions smoothly. It's all about making the day as stress-free and enjoyable as possible for the bride and groom.

Evening: Subtle Breakdowns and Ensuring the Couple's Happiness
Once the formalities are out of the way, we'll start the subtle breakdown process. This means gently picking up and starting the cleanup while ensuring the couple and their guests are still having a great time.

Twenty-one thousand and twenty-four miles later, it was important to Myla and DeShawn that they created a warm and inviting space for their wedding.

Bridging the distance between Baltimore and Indiana, the day they said "I do" was also the first time their families would meet.

They incorporated lots of games and spaces for guests to mingle, ensuring everyone felt welcome and engaged for the perfect blend of fun and romance.

As a wedding planner, I'm always looking for inspiration for my next wedding. Sometimes, I find it in the unlikeliest of places, but it's always in line with my couple's personality.

Here are three things I do to spark creativity:

Connect with the Couples Vision: I start by understanding the vision for their special day. What elements are most important to them? What do they envision when they think about their wedding? Connecting with their vision always guides the creative process.

Seek Inspiration Everywhere: Inspiration can come from unexpected places! I use my environment for inspiration, attending events, and visiting new venues to gather ideas. You never know what might spark creativity.

Embrace Personal Connections: Every love story is a treasure chest of unique experiences. I'm always digging deeper with my couples, cherishing their personal connections and experiences as valuable sources of inspiration. Asking questions like...What's on your playlist? If you were to take a ride to your favorite spot as a couple, where would you go? Or, what's your favorite childhood memory?

Their stories can be the heart and soul of their wedding.
