Creation Story
DJ iRod Creation Story
Although music has been in DJ iRod’s blood since the late 80's when he was "Banging his head" to Quiet Riot n cassette,strapped into the backseat of his dads Firebird. His DJ career all started in the summer of 2016. A band he was drumming for at the time was slated to perform their 2nd gig at a guy named Henry's 75th birthday party in Cambridge NY.
The band abruptly decided to call it quits and the Guitar player Chris offered iRod the opportunity to go and play some music for a packed house at the Elks lodge. "I had never DJ'd a day in my life but the thought of leaving poor Henry high and dry for his 75th birthday party was NOT something I was about to let happen"
So with Chris Webster's PA, a trial version of Virtual DJ and a stomach full of nerves iRod accepted challenge. It was a little nerve racking with a nearly non existent DJ catalog at time. But once I figured out how to process song requests for some of the "young-ins" by hot-spotting to my cell phone it get even more fun.” Says iRod.
