John & Zahiem reached out because John is on leave from the military and they needed their marriage license signed today before he deploys again tomorrow. I said I'd be happy to do it but I'm currently getting my hair highlighted and asked if they could come to the salon. They quickly drove from court and I signed off on their license to make them legal!

This was a very, very special wedding for me. Earlier this year one of my best friends passed away. Nina was the sales director for a local limo company so I knew her through the wedding industry. The day she died, her cousin, Angela, held my hand in the ICU. Last weekend Angela reached out and shared that planning a wedding didn't feel right without Nina here. She and her fiance wanted to turn their engagement party into a surprise wedding. So, that's what we did. I recruited the help of a florist and photographer and surrounded by about 80 people in their backyard...and one very special guest watching from heaven...these two said I do. Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Malkin!

It's the anniversary of Married by Megan being born! I'm blown away by the growth I've experienced over the last 9 years with this business. I started out hoping to do just one wedding a month in hopes of some extra fun money. Instead, I've found something I'm so passionate about and it's such a huge part of my life. Looking forward to a great 10th year!

A surprise wedding! When I initially chatted with Pema & Katelyn the idea of a surprise wedding came up and they loved it. Their co-ed wedding shower turned into a wedding after the groom "accidentally" spilled his drink on her dress and she stormed off. She soon returned in a wedding dress and gasps were heard from guests! As an added bonus, their dog, Shadow, was the ring bearer! They also used a Celtic wedding toast for their ring exchange:
May you never steal, lie or cheat. But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows. And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life. And if you must cheat, then please cheat death, because I couldn't live a day without you.
