Lots going on with my new business! Also 3 balloon & face painting events on Saturday 😅

Hello everyone!

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome you've given me as I step into my new role as owner. I’m deeply honored to be trusted to nurture and preserve this special space with all my heart and soul. I am immensely grateful for the trust and support of Sarah, Julia, and the New Dawn yogi community. I am incredibly excited to continue growing this wonderful community that Sarah and Julia have so lovingly nurtured. I'm thankful to say that both Sarah and Julia will remain an integral part of the studio - I couldn’t do it without their support.

Many of you already know me, and some of you have seen how much New Dawn has transformed both my personal practice and my teaching style. While I love teaching, my passion for practicing yoga runs deeper. I've learned so much from our diverse instructors, and my teaching style has evolved significantly since I first started practicing with you all. I look forward to continuing this journey in my new role.

A little about me: I grew up here in Cedar Falls. I’ve been married for nearly 7 years and we have three beautiful Italian greyhounds we love dearly. I love gardening, painting, bringing people together, and sharing good food.

Outside of the studio, I work in sales at CityBuilders Cedar Falls, helping people find durable, practical, and beautiful solutions for their exterior home improvements, including windows, siding, roofing, gutters/toppers, entry doors & decks. This job is a great fit as it allows me the flexibility to manage my other businesses and connect with people one-on-one throughout our community. I love helping people make their homes more comfortable & beautiful. I also run a small business, Loony Balloonies and Face Painting, where I spread joy at festivals and parties through my art.

I'm excited to refresh our studio to better reflect our beautiful community. We have plans to add a welcoming mural and install a new floor. We will also be hosting a Summer Solstice Party, with ticket sales going towards studio updates & free will donations to the House of Hope- Cedar Valley, Iowa and Cedar Valley Angels. There are more updates on the way, and I'm doing my best to just take it one step at a time.

This Saturday, we'll have a symbolic passing of the torch. Sarah will teach the first class at 7:30 AM, and I'll follow with the 9 AM class. Afterward, we'll celebrate New Dawn's next phase with mimosas and non-alcoholic beverages. I hope to see you there!

HUGE life update! ✨

I am so excited to share that in less than a month, I will become the new owner of New Dawn Yoga right here in Cedar Falls!

Our community radiates love, generosity, and peace, and I'm deeply honored to be trusted to nurture and preserve this special space with all my heart and soul. I am immensely grateful for the trust and support of Sarah, Julia, and the New Dawn yogi community.

I'm eager to infuse some fresh energy into the studio, with plans for a little redecoration, a welcoming mural, a new floor in the studio space, additional artwork, notes of encouragement, and a suggestion box. Additionally, introducing a non-hot night for those who prefer a cooler practice, along with beginner workshops and more. I’ll always have open ears for any recommendations that come my way.

While I've owned and operated other businesses, diving into the world of brick-and-mortar ownership, especially with a team of employees, marks an exciting and challenging new journey for me. I'm grateful for every bit of support that comes my way.

To celebrate its next chapter, New Dawn will host a Summer Solstice Party, featuring an all-level yoga class, pool time, pickleball, and a co****le tournament. Tickets will be available starting June 1st.

As I've been sharing this exciting news with friends, family and fellow yogis, two questions have been popping up, depending on which aspect of my life they're familiar with, so I figured I’d include them here!

1. Will you still be doing face painting, balloon animals, and working at City Builders?

Absolutely! Since each instructor at the studio manages their own opening and closing, my new role won't significantly impact my current day-to-day activities, aside from some office tasks and occasional studio touch-ups.

2. What about Sarah and Julia?!?

Both Sarah Beckman and Julia Andreini will remain integral parts of New Dawn. Sarah is embracing a new role as the studio’s Dance Mom, while Julia will continue to contribute her invaluable presence to the studio just as before.

Whether you've taken the time to read this post in its entirety, sent good vibes or prayers our way, shared the news with family and friends, or even taken the step into the doors of our studio, I am incredibly appreciative for each and every gesture of support. ❤️✨

We did it y'all ✨

A huge thank you to Oakridge Real Estate for having me again this year. They do such an amazing job putting this huge event on for our community & create SO many smiles Easter weekend each year.

A special thank you to my wonderful husband for blowing up 300 of the thousand pre-made balloons. My tying finger was strong til the end of this morning because of him. 😘

Also thank you to Sarah Beckman for covering my 7:30AM yoga class at New Dawn Yoga this morning & Renae Minikus for dealing with me making balloons at my full time gig, CityBuilders Cedar Falls between phone calls. 😁

Always such a great challenge to start off the season & boy am I excited to lay down. 😅

But first I'm headed to Dysart to face paint & make some more balloons at a child's birthday party! There's rest to be had after smiles are made ✨

In the midst of holiday parties & kid's birthday parties!

Thank you to An Elegant Affair Bridal for having me for reindeer games a couple weeks ago - a holiday hoopla event! My first time doing holiday themed face paint and it was a very merry time ☃️

This past weekend was the Waterloo Elk Lodge's holiday party - so much fun making so many balloons for the kiddos! Then I face painted at a 4-year-old girl's birthday party on Sunday. Those kids were feeling extra special with their face and arm paintings! ☺️

This coming weekend I'll at the Independence Library's Holiday event with ✨SANTA✨ and all are welcome! Fun with crafts, games and other activities...Friday from 5pm-6:30pm

Saturday evening I'll be at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church's Christmas Event from 6-8. They put on such a fun event for the kiddos every year including a walk-through of the story of the birth of Jesus where kiddos act out all the parts. It's always so cute seeing them run around in their little costumes between shows! All are welcome.

Sunday I get to help celebrate another little girl's birthday who is turning 4! Her mom said it's her first real party between Covid & it being so close to the holidays, so we will make it extra special for her & her friends & family. ✨🥳

After this weekend I have NOTHING booked until elementary school fun fair season in May. 😭

The slow season is always this time but I usually get to sparkle up some birthday parties!

I will begin ballooning & face painting when my friend arrives to help run my bakery stand. Sometime between 8:30-9:30.

Had such a great time bringing fun & entertainment to a family friendly get together this evening!

It was supposed to be outside but half of the summer's rain was delayed to today. 🙃

They said thank God they hired me because the bouncy houses & outdoor games were not happening. 😅

I may have arrived a bit damp but we all had a great time cozied up inside. ✨️

Going into one of the last busy busy weekends of this season!

At a recent event the kids were running around at one of the parties with balloons & face paint, a "grown-up" told me, "These kids are going to remember this day for a long time." It just warmed my heart...I am incredibly lucky to be able to create such fun memories for these kiddos. ✨️🥰

Tomorrow is Winnebago's company picnic up near Forest City. Sunday is Tama County Conservation's Fall Fest at Otter Creek in Toledo! This event is open to the public & I will be painting from 12-2. The event goes til 6pm. Hope to see you there!

Although the traditional season is coming to a close, y'all can hire me ✨year round️✨️ - don't hesitate to reach out to book me for your event!

Busy last couple weeks! Thanks to Prairie Lakes Church New Hampton for having me at their party on the lawn again this year! Last Saturday was more ballooning, this time at a family reunion for the sweetest people & some talented musicians in Gladbrook. ✨️

This past weekend was busy too - an event for the Children's Tumor Foundation - our state's annual Shine a Light NF Walk Saturday morning....then at the Gallagher to help the kids get pumped for a magician show Saturday evening. Can't forget Cedar Valley Angels Fall Fair event on Sunday for our foster care community!! I got to work for the bravest kids in our community this past weekend 💓

All of us on the board for Checker's Stone Soul Picnic are looking forward to seeing you from 11-5:00 for great music, wonderful Blue Barn BBQ, tasty treats from Karma Cafe and all sorts of youth activities. Bring your cooler, lawn chairs and cash. Help us raise money for the NE Iowa Food Bank's youth programs.

Sorry again to all the events I said no to for this past weekend, but what a beautiful weekend it was celebrating my beautiful little sister & her now husband ✨️

This coming weekend I'll be face painting in Nashua for the Big 4 Fair!

The season isn't slowing down this year like it normally does in September- I've got a gig every weekend until the next wedding I'm in on October 21st!!

The season is gearing up! Had a great Saturday making balloons for AMVETS in Charles City, celebrating 125 years & also a boy's birthday party in Waterloo.

This coming Saturday we have Heartland Days - thank you to Prairie Lakes Church New Hampton Chapter for having me make balloons again this year as part of the family fun time you all put on for the people of New Hampton!

I love when kids remember me from the previous years, sometimes exactly what balloon art they had me make for them. These memories are so fun to create ✨️

Sunday we have Grace Church's Fun in the Park, doing balloons and face painting!

Think I need to stock up any time soon? 😜

Great night last night at Kingsley Elementary! A couple kids told me I look half my age so when I'm 100 I'll look 50...I think they meant it as a diss LOL - but I obviously loved it 😂

Next Friday is balloons for Lou Henry Elementary and then both balloons and face painting for a private birthday party on Saturday.
