Did you know every June 23rd Puerto Ricans celebrates La Noche de San Juan? A cultural event tied to the feast day of Saint John de Baptist. Here are some traditions and activities that we have incorporated for years.
• Beach Gatherings: People gather at beaches with music, dancing, and bonfires across Puerto Rico, but the most popular spots include Isla Verde, Condado, and Luquillo.
• Ritual: At midnight, participants engage in the custom of walking backward into the ocean and submerging themselves 12 times. This is believed to cleanse and purify, bringing good luck.
• Food and Drinks: Puerto Ricans bring every kind of typical foods and drinks, such as bacalaítos, alcapurrias, tostones and our famous piña colada.
It’s a very vibrant and meaningful event in Puerto Rico. If you have the chance to be a part of it, don’t forget to bring your trash bags to keep our beautiful beaches clean.

Happy National Coquito Day!🤩 If you are looking for the perfect holiday drink, you must try this delicious recipe at home!🇵🇷 🔸Ingredients: • 1 1/2 cups dark rum • 2 cinnamon sticks • 1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk • 1 (15 oz) can of cream of coconut (Coco Lopez) • 1 (13.5 oz) can of coconut milk • 4 oz evaporated milk • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract • 4 tablespoons shredded coconut, optional . 🔹Instructions: 1. In a large pitcher with a lid (or two large jars with lids - this will make about 56 oz of liquid), add dark rum and cinnamon sticks. Let sit for 1 hour. 2. In a blender, puree all the other ingredients. Pour into the bottle and shake well to combine with the rum mixture. 3. Chill for at least 4 hours and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a month. 4. Shake vigorously before pouring. . We hope you enjoy it.
