For a loooong time, I didn’t feel like I belonged.
I loved tech and wasn’t too bad in math. I loved languages too. Then I earned an MFA in Design… and I still questioned whether I was truly an artist. Still unsure, but I know I’m a creative person—and I have tons of ideas.
Today, I’m excited to share two creative moments:
🟣 My piece (12x20in) will be unveiled at 50 Voices of Change: Continuing the MLK Legacy, a project honoring 50 activists across the U.S. One per state. It’s part of Bentley University’s MLK Day 2026: Linked in Hope, Purpose, and Achievement.
I chose to represent Mary Church Terrell, born in Memphis, TN—educator, suffragist, linguist, and global citizen.
In 1888, she began her journal abroad with:
« Ce soir je commence mon journal en français. »
(Tonight I begin my journal in French.)
As part of my 201 French class at Bentley, students helped find her original handwritten journal in French.
The portrait was AI-generated in a pop-art style, then digitally tweaked and layered with archival textures, suffragette purple, and mirrored elements to reflect her influence across time.

🎤 With Dr. Mounia Ziat, Experience Design Faculty
🟡 I’m also showing Juste Tutu, my food, design & storytelling installation, at the UNF Faculty Exhibition.
While discussing the installation with curator Ian Carey, he said it reminded him of Félix González-Torres. I was flattered—and curious!
Juste Tutu is my creative space where event, art, and design overlap.
“Juste,” like justice or just right. And “Tutu” is my nickname, short for Tuyen.

🗓️ Opening: Thurs, Jan 22, 6–8PM · On view till Mar 4
This semester I’m teaching Creativity & Critique with 31 students. I’ve brought back a ritual from my Lesley University days:
🎤 One Cool Thing — a Show & Tell. Could be a site, song, app, idea, game 🎲…
✨ Now you: What’s your ONE cool thing this week?
Where do you feel most creative these days?
Me? Spin class… or in the shower 😂
